I bought this specifically to be able to connect an M1 MacBook Pro and an M3 MacBook Pro so that I have a single cable coming out of each and have KVM with PD to each one.Unfortunately, it didn't matter what I tried, which cables I used etc, I could NOT get this to work. Then found on the actual product page on StarTech's website that it doesn't support EDID and this is most likely the reason the MacBook don't detect it.

De tanto en cuanto deja de funcionar alguno de los puertos y se tiene que reiniciar el ordenador que toque, pero en general va muy bien.

So I have the an XPS pro and a X1 thinkpad both running Linux LTS. They are both new so support Thunderbolt, and infact the XPS only has 2 ports. both thunderbolt 4.I needed something that would allow me to switch between the laptops for late night work/music making and was concerned that most KVMs wouldn't "support" linux. For those of you on Linux, read no further, this KVM will support it out of the box. I even have a USB HUB connected to it so that my Audio device (a Focusrite solo) can be used on both laptops.I have had no issues with keyboard/mouse or the audio driver not being picked up when switching laptops. Including when they come out of sleep.thumbs up from me!

Does it it says. Works perfectly, however, was surprised that it only supports USB2. My webcam will can not be connected because it requires USB 3.

Realtek sound driver randomly crashes on Windows 10 when this switch switches to USB+HDM output. Also switches video output for too long (few seconds).

This KVM switch works perfectly for switching between a Lenovo Thinkpad T480 and a Macbook, driving a Dell monitor with an integrated USB hub. The setup reduced a lot of clutter on my desk and the convenience of being able to switch without having to move any cables will help you forget about the cost of the device before long. The switch is well-constructed and unobtrusive, with just an LED to indicate which input is selected. I expect it to last a long time.A few reviewers have commented on the layout of the ports, which would be more convenient if all of the ports were on the back. I was able to make it work for my desk by rotating the switch 90 degrees (see picture). It would also be nice if the switching time were faster, but that's a function of the computers and not the KVM. The Thinkpad detects when it is selected more quickly than the Macbook.

The product is not good at switching the inputs. It doesn't work well with two computer. Just manages to switch the display but not the input devices such as keyboard and mouse.

I connected Windows 10 and MacBook Pro, and few issues:- I put Tidal MQA on Mac, outputting to DAC. When I switch to Windows, music gets interrupted, stops, then starts playing again after some time, etc.; switching back to Mac shows disconnected DAC. DAC and switch connected to different Mac ports on opposite sides. I can only guess that StarTech switch creates electrical noise, etc.; such issues don't happen when I connect Dell U3818DW directly via USB-C- really hard time switching keyboardsI expect to receive premium quality.Returning; cannot risk to burn other other equipment. Cannot switch keyboard?
