Bought this for my treadmill. Was a little uncomfortable when plugged into the wall outlet. Felt like the strap was tugging on my wrist even though there was still slack on the cable. Fixed this by plugging it into an extension cord which I tie-wrapped near treadmill's handles. Now it's comfortable and no more shocks!

I used my multimeter to check continuity between the snap (connection to the wrist strap) and the other end of the wire and there was ZERO continuity, meaning this wire is not connected end to end. Something has gone wrong in the manufacturing of these. People are being duped, you're not being grounded at all. The wrist strap carries continuity between the inside and outside snap, but that is where it stops.

I bought this because I have a treadmill in my basement, which tends to be very dry in the winter. The static build up from walking on the treadmill would shock me anytime I touched any metal, so I bought this to wear while I'm walking. It works great, no more shocks! I just have it plugged in to a power strip near the treadmill.

Does what it's supposed to and has a nice long coiled cord. As noted in another review, if you're trying to check that it's actually grounded all the way through you'll need to measure in megaohms and regular continuity tests will probably show as negative. This is exactly as intended as ANSI/ESD S1.1 specifies 1.0 megohm +/-20% of resistance in case a large voltage shows up on the other end when it's strapped to your wrist. Also take care with the plastic prongs on the plug as they're not as sturdy as normal metal plugs.
