I ordered this with a fan for my axolotls hospital tank and it works exactly as it says. The thermometer is also accurate down to .1 degrees fahrenheit. I was able to set it up in about 2 minutes. It is totally worth the money and I would recommend this.

I use this in my home greenhouse to control an electric heater. It has well written instructions and is easy to set up. The temperature sensor is pretty accurate. the blades on that plug into your receptacle are solid and heavy duty. Two issues that are not critical are first, the display does not have much contrast unless you are viewing it at eye level. This makes it hard to read if your receptacle is not right in front of your face. Also, the controller is pretty wide and it may crowd the adjacent receptacle if you are using a double gang outlet with four outlets. This can be inconvenient. Otherwise it works as expected.

I was excited about the concept of making my space heater smarter with this device, but it fell short in practice. The timer settings are limited to just day and night, which doesn't offer much flexibility. The temperature control is also lacking precision, as it only maintains a rough threshold around 2 degrees F. If you set it to 77 degrees, expect fluctuations between 75 and 77. Another drawback is the inaccurate thermometer and the lack of an easy mounting option. While the idea is great, it unfortunately didn't meet my expectations.

I got this thermostat to control an electric heater I use in my camper. The instructions that came with it were easy enough to understand to get started with it pretty quickly. The thermostat also has an internal replaceable battery that keeps memory of your setting when it's unplugged and not in use. This thermostat can be programmed for a day mode and night mode, so it can maintain different temperatures for each time period, which is a nice feature if you prefer cooler nights or want to save energy during the day. The temperature probe is on a pretty long wire as well, so you can easily set this up to get a more accurate temperature reading from a location other than the outlet. The only downfall I've found with this is the display is hard to read. The backlighting is very bright, and the text is kind of dim - so you end up being blinded by the backlighting while trying to read what you're doing. There doesn't seem to be a way to adjust the brightness of the backlight or the text. On top of this, the text is pretty difficult to read unless your looking at the unit head-on (direct). Considering this gets programmed while plugged into your outlet, you can start to imagine how uncomfortable programming this can be when your hunched over trying to look at a screen dead on 14" above the floor with a backlight blinding you and washing out the text you're trying to read. For what it's worth, the backlight doesn't stay on (it turns off after about 10 seconds of not touching any buttons), so it's not obnoxious to have in a bedroom at night. All in all, I give this 4 stars. It does what it's designed to do and does it pretty well. The thermometer on the thermostat is pretty accurate and very sensitive. If the screen was designed better (adjustable brightness for backlight and text and able to see from odd angles), I'd give it a 5 star pretty easily. I'd still recommend to anybody that needs something like this, but just plans to program it once and forget about it.
