This "glove" works very well, and I've used everything from thumb rings, leather tabs, to leather work gloves. The thumb leather is smooth and is thick enough to effectively protect the thumb without being too thick that you can't feel the string or limit your mobility. Also being a "glove" greatly secures the thumb leather without having to use cord to tighten around the thumb and feel uncomfortable (as with other types of leather tabs). The brooch on the wrist is a bit gaudy, but it is secured on by a screw and can be easily removed. Sizing wise, its a one size fits all. I have smaller hands and dont feel this is too big. I've shot ~100 arrows with this so far and haven't had any issues. Overall, for the money, this is definitely one of the best thumb draw protection out there.

Leather just doesn't pad your thumb that well. Mine still got very sore after practice. Honestly, just buy a traditional thumb ring, the one they make with wood, bone, steel, whatever.
