Tips in using center drill bits:

1.Fix the work piece deep in the Lathe machine to prevent wobbling when rotate

2.Get rid of acid surface before drilling and use oil or proper lubricant to protect the bits

3.A good rule to follow is to go 2/3 deep on the tapered section

4.Stop immediately if the drilling sound is abnormal and fix any problem before resuming

5.Clean the center drill bits before and after drilling, and apply oil to store it properly

6.They come in 5 different sizes,1# and 4 #are the two most common sizes.

I bought two, one for a spare down the road. The first one I used failed operation on the second use. The other one I purchased after about 20 uses is know showing signs of failing.Would not recommend.

Worked perfectly for drilling on-center holes in brass, using a drill press and a vise. I don't know why I didn't already have a set.

These bits are not sharp at all, bad burrs on tips. Will definitely have to sharpen them
