I got this sack to collect yard-waste as I have a few trees on a larger plot of land, and this was the perfect solution to my cleanup. For starters this bag is HUGE, like really huge, I'm able to almost fill it up with sticks and grass and leaves to move around to my compost. The straps are great too and I'm able to grab the bag with my front loader and move it around with ease. Another thing I really like is the inside "cover" flap that you can use to cover up the top of whatever you have in your bag. The fabric is very strong too and I've thrown a couple larger sticks into this bag and when moving around has held up to multiple abrasions and scrapes along the gerund. All in all this is a great bag that has made life much easier moving around a large amount of material, I'll definitely be getting a couple more for some other materials I need moved around.

I'm using this one-ton bag for storing lightweight items in my garage. This bag is large and made from polypropylene. In my experience this material has had a short lifespan. Our garage is not heated and in the chilly weather it already feels brittle. So far so good though. I don't think that fully packed, my bag is holding more than 85 pounds. All the handles seem to work fine. The top has a sewn short tie that does the job if you don't over fill the bag. The stitching is fine but I don't see enforced stitching for a heavier weight load or the heavier thread. Overall I have a good experience with light bulky items and that is all I can recommend this bag for at this point. I'm not sure where the "One Ton" designation comes from, but I would not feel comfortable putting material that heavy in this bag.

I’m using this to store all my unused planters and all the other tools, supplies and knickknacks that I use for gardening. I wanted to put all my gardening related things in one place for storage over the winter. I’m using this in my covered back patio that we don’t use during the winter. If you don’t have the space for this then it won’t work. This economical solution met my needs because it allows me to keep ALL my supplies in one place minimizing the chance of stuff getting lost or misplaced between seasons, it’s so easy to put everything inside, it accommodates the wide range of items and sizes, and all the stuff is protected with the drawstring top. I like that all my stuff is one place and it doesn’t look cluttered because I’m all about convenience and keeping things out of sight out of mind. When spring gardening season arrives I plan to take everything out then use the bag to store the organic trash headed to disposal such as the old dirt when I add new soil to my planters and plant debris from my backyard. Then I’ll order a new bag for winter storage. I have a separate bin for organics that is picked up weekly, but it fills up quickly in the spring and summer so having this item to store between pick-ups is great. This solves my gardening relate storage needs. Build quality is good enough and being able to use it for two purposes makes it functional for my needs.

I am going to use these for probably a very different purpose than most. We are looking for land to build a self-sufficient homestead and while I will probably find a myriad of other things to use these for, my main purpose will to be to make worm castings (black gold for the garden) and grow gobs of composting worms in them. I plan to make one of my first businesses the selling of garden worm castings and these bags will be an excellent starter worm bin to begin with. -Large volume with little initial cost- I have all kinds of plans to build flow-through composting bins and stuff, but who knows, these might just do the whole trick and make my overhead very low! We’ll see.My main concern was: do they breathe? The worms need air. Not so much that they dry out but some exchange of air. Well, I am happy to report that this kind of bag does indeed breathe- very well! The weave is tight enough that nothing will slip through but air can enter. Good stuff, Maynard! They are BIG and I will get a good volume of intermediate production from them for my own garden and tree planting to begin with! I don’t know if there are any surface chemicals on the fabric but I will wash them thoroughly before first use.How composting worms work is that they live in only the top 3"-6". So, I will put a layer of soil and worm food (raw compost, vegetable scraps, manure, rock dust like Azomite, flour, even baby food and the like) and introduce worms into that. Everything passes through the worm’s gut, dirt, dust and everything and becomes lovely, super compost. As they quickly consume that food and turn it into castings I will add more 'food' in successive layers and they will migrate as they eat, up and up. Then, when the bag is completely full in pretty short order, I will remove the worms from the very top, start another bag with them and thus and so...I’ll also build a little platform with castors to move the bag around on the concrete of the warehouse as needed. I don’t think these bags will hold up very well to direct sunlight. The UV will kill them in short order as attested to in other of these reviews. My bags will always be inside a building so the troubles some others have had should not be an issue. I will amend this review to reflect their longevity later, when I know. I’m very excited about discovering these huge and excellent bags and will probably buy a lot more! Cheers and thanks for reading this far. I hope it helps in some way…!
