It has been a while since I have been in the habit of buying toys buy now with nieces and nephews having children of their own I am in loving of all the selection and new ideas (as well as old faithfuls). I got this for grand niece and nephew who will be turning 4.I'll start off with the positives. This is a well made and packaged set. The pieces are solid, strong magnets and facade appears printed directly on and not a peelable sticker, bright colours without being garish and reminiscent of popular video games past and present. Concept is fun, allows for versatile creative play.Magnets allow you to build 3D objects as pictured in seller's item description, but also allows for creating scenes on surfaces like a fridge door (I hadn't even considered this until going the the booklet/catalogue that comes with the set). Magnets do indeed allow pieces to fit together securely in different configurations.Concern: Loads of potential but kind of pricey for what you get. This is a starter set. 100 pieces sounds like a lot, and it is a fair amount if using mainly to build 2d scenes on the fridge door. But if you want to build 3d scenes you are going to run out of pieces quickly. There are other, larger set advertised with this set that allow for more ambitious builds but with this starter based priced at $59.99 (after 14% discount, regular price $69.99)for 100 pieces I don't know if I want to know how much the larger sets costs.Younger kids should be fine using it to make 2d scenes but I can easily imagine older kids quickly getting bored and feeling limited with the 100 pieces in this set. That said, it appears well constructed. The box can be kept for storage when not in use as also solidly build (and colourful). Also comes with a plastic bag for storing pieces but I think we will continue to use the box. There was a slight error in that the set was supposed to come with two windows but instead the set I received came with 18 red brick blocks instead of 16 (not a big enough issue for me to complain, but something to keep in mind). Also probably a good idea to keep in mind age recommendation as not supper tiny I can still see some children still potentially getting these stuck in the back of their mouth/blocking airway. (Don't know if being magnetic could complicate this or if plastic pieces could potentially break exposing magnets instead which could be swallowed). Not recommended for kids under 3 years.Overall I do like this set very much. I'm just concerned with long term playability due to the size/price of the set and the cost of of expansion sets. Even discounted price of $59.99 seems pricey for a set you can only really use for 2d scenes despite item description clearly showing builds made using multiple sets not possible with this single set alone. In fairness the item description does say it is 100 pieces and that set is expandable, still think it would be more helpful/accurate (and honest) to focus on the actually pieces included in the set and not what you can do if you had multiple sets. Up to individual to decide on their budget but on concept alone would recommend and especially if on sale.

These blocks are really fun, I love the different patterns, they look like a combination of mario and minecraft! The magnets help your building hold together but they are not strong enough to stay suspended or anything like that. My biggest criticism is the amount you get. One hundred may sound like a lot but you can't really build much with that amount (see pic), you're better off buying 2-3 packs in order to make something cool. My son only wants to make structures using the blocks that look like actual building materials, so the grass, dirt, etc end up being left out a lot. That's not the blocks fault, just something to keep in mine when you purchase them. With a decent collection of these, they would be hours of fun!

My kids love minecraft and they LOVE this set so much. They make so many different builds and test some designs before they build it in their realm. They're great fun to play with ourselves too!

I've gotten another set of these magnetic "real world Minecraft blocks" and the kids have enjoyed playing with them, so I wanted to try another brand. These are essentially the same, so when selecting a brand it's really about picking it based on price and images on the blocks. The set includes 100 magnetic blocks, a storage bag, and an ideas/instructions booklet. While the storage bag is a nice touch I think it's better to keep these stored in the box as it keeps the blocks better protected and is nice and compact. The blocks themselves are a good quality, with a nice variety of designs that are applied well.I tried building one of the designs included in the booklet (see photo), and while it does show you which blocks are included in the build it doesn't give a quantity and there is only one photo of the finished build making it difficult to recreate. The magnets inside each block allow the blocks to attach to one another at any orientation so you don't run into issues of the blocks repelling one another. However, the hold is not strong so when you have voids in your design the blocks do tend to slide down, i.e., lose their hold.Overall, a decent set of blocks. I'd only recommend getting these if they are on sale as they are right now (close to 30% off), as at full price they're on the expensive side. However, if you like the block designs and the pricing is right, these are a fun toy to bring a video game to life.

These blocks are popping all over now, and they all seem to have a different size, making cross compatibility an issue. These are 20mm in width, and are square. The finish quality on them is good, as each side appear to be a plastic with the print underneath a textured finish.Theses are amongst the good ones. My kids really like them and 20mm is a good size and I found a lot of kits with this size too.At the time of reviewing, these are just under 50$ (including a coupon code), for 100pieces, which is not much. You'll need a lot more to make a bin ;) So the price is not great, but the quality is.

These magnetic blocks are a good alternative to traditional wooden blocks or plastic building bricks. They allow kids to build unconventional shapes that can't be created with wooden building blocks or plastic building bricks. This set comes with 100 cubes and a carry bag. Each magnetic cube measures approximately 0.75 inches on each side. The blocks connect magnetically. I assume that the magnets flip around so that the poles are always in the correct position to connect. The blocks are easy to connect and tear down, which would make them great in a classroom or playroom setting. They can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. The set comes with an instruction manual, but it is difficult to follow and the kids prefer to just make their own scenes. Take note that many of the scenes showing in the listing and instruction booklet require multiple sets to create the scenes.Kids can create their own worlds on a flat surface like a table, or they can use the fridge for a vertical surface and make the blocks appear to 'float' in the air like in a video game. The blocks have a pixelated look like popular video games. The blocks can be limiting in their usage as they have designs printed on each, little ones may not want to include lava or water blocks as walls to their house.

This is a nice set of magnetic blocks. I was surprised to see the images are actually printed on the block and not just stickers that my three year old grandson could pull off. The blocks themselves are quite durable as well and have held up to a very rambunctious toddler who likes to build things and then forcefully knock those buildings down, lol. There are an array of different colors and designs and he likes how they mimic Mario so he was a fan right away. These are easy to use for all ages and the magnets are strong enough to hold the build together and also strong enough to stay on his magnetic white board and the fridge too! They also make an audible sound when clicked together that he really enjoys as well. These work great with other magnetic blocks too, and this set is kind of small even with 100 pieces so I would recommend getting more sets for building bigger structures or for more than one person playing at a time. It does include a photo guide for building different structures and it also shows which of the blocks you need to use, it's actually pretty easy for my grandson to follow too. The original price of $60 was a bit high in my opinion, but with the 33% off coupon it's a much better value. Overall this set is a lot of fun and promotes hours of creative play. Good quality and toddler approved! Highly recommend!

Great magnetic blocks for little hands that have trouble with coordination. They all well made blocks that imagination controls. Long use time by kids who love to make many things. It’s also fun to watch them figure out the magnetism. Awesome play toy for young and old alike.

These magnetic blocks are fun. They pulled on my nostalgia just a little being Super Mario's yellow wearing "cousin." The kids enjoy magnetic toys of all kinds. These have a satisfying sound to them when they connect. But I would never dream of spending $60 for this box of 100 blocks that equaled maybe 6-7" squared. Each block being like 1/2"-3/4" on all sides.
