This is easy to install. It seals to the wall using silicone. It helps keep water from getting behind the wall. It fits right over the pipe.

These little gadgets go into my bag of tricks for dealing with pesky gaps between a tub spout and the wall. It's simple, easy to install and just works. Enough said!

We were having issues with there being too large of a gap between the tub spout and the wall of the shower. We had a bunch of caulk in the space and it worked fine but eventually the caulk would start to crack and if we weren’t careful we’d have water in the basement. Our basement wasn’t finished so while it wasn’t great, didn’t do any damage and we would just recaulk it. Now that we finished the basement and have a ceiling we knew we had to come up with a way to fix this more permanently. Did some googling for options and this came up. Bought it, put it in (very easy!) and it’s awesome! No more ugly caulk and no water. Eventually I’ll update the fixtures and get a dark color so I’m not concerned that it doesn’t match. Works great and wish we had done it years ago!
