The 1/4" is designed to provide a decorative look as well as a water blocking function to our modern bathroom. The tub spout gasket can only be used for gaps no more than 1/4". Kindly do a measurement of the existing spout and wall distance to find the distance first.

I purchased this to address a 1/4" gap between my tub spout and the tile shower wall during a tub spout replacement. The only issue I encountered was that the white circular hole in the center of the ring was not wide enough to fit over the male copper pipe fitting that secures the tub spout to the 1/2" copper pipe. Since the white material around the hole is hard plastic, I had to drill it to enlarge and then apply caulk around the pipe gap after installation. Overall, it worked well and looks great.

Had a small gap between spout and wall tiles after miscalculating tile and mortar depth. Could not get copper pipe the correct dimension or cut the pipe as it is tapered. So a spacer fit and works perfectly. Looks great too. You wouldn’t know it wasn’t meant to be there.

This is a nice looking, quality plate that is used to fill the gap between the tub spout and the wall. I got this hoping it would work for my situation, but my new tub spout flares out at the end and I couldn't use it. I wish it had because it would have made a really good seal and at the same time look great.
