This wood sets are so similar to Kapla. My 10yo son had so much fun building dominos with these. The wood pieces have the good weight and good texture. No chips! all is good!

Compare price with Kapla or other renown brands: if it's at most half the price of a good brand, you can risk buying it and throwing away the bad pieces.Quite a lot of bad pieces. You may want to throw them away or fix them with some wood filler and then sand them...Overall, it really depends on price. Above $40, I'd recommend you look somewhere else.

I have read the reviews and it seems like it can be a hit or miss with the quality of the pieces, sometimes good and sometimes a bad batch. Unfortunately we got a bad batch that had a lot of pieces that were split, chunks taken out of the sides leaving sharp edges, and spots where it has splinters sticking out. The box we received is not suitable for our daycare preschool kids. Hopefully we can fix them up a bit and give them the sanding they need, and throw out the bad pieces that are unsavable so that we can still get use of them with our school aged camp group. More work than we were wanting to do, but at least they weren't expensive.

I like this product enough that I have accumulated 5 sets. It’s for my child and I to play with. The boards are not the high quality like the ones in the expensive sets but they are perfect for my needs. When I open a new box I discard the handful of gnarly ones that slip through the quality control. We build walls, towers, or whatever structure we can imagine. Then we use remote control toys to crash them down. Imagination, fine motor skills, and practical application of physics are all exercised by this play. This is one of my favourite purchases where the value to me is greater than the cost of the item.

I read reviews for this and almost didn’t buy them. Not sure why all the hate- they’re a fraction of the price of the blocks I usually buy, and they’re almost identical. There’s a few knots in a couple pieces, but all in all, I highly recommend these.

At least had knots in them. Tons were splintered and chipped, some were broken altogether. Very poor quality. The ones with knots snap very easily. Size not uniform. Some are warped. Looks like the leftovers of reject pieces from home depot.
