Amazon.ca Product Description

"Click-Clack." It's the iconic sound of two Tegu Blocks coming together. Tegu has reinvented the wooden block in a way that brings new life to a favored classic. By safely embedding magnets into each piece, Tegu Blocks become curiously attractive for both kids and kids at heart. Defy gravity and push your imagination in ways never before possible. No instruction manuals or electronics; just toys that demand imagination and inspire limitless creativity across all ages. Open-ended play is endangered, but we're bringing it back. Created with beautiful Honduran hardwoods and safe water-based finishes, these blocks have proven wildly addictive for kids (and kids at heart) and will encourage the simple joy of creating for generations. This set includes 24 blocks in six shapes: 4 Medium Columns, 4 Short Planks, 6 Long Planks, 4 Mega Planks, 4 Cubes and 2 Parallelograms. Tegu blocks come packaged in a beautifully designed box large and rigid enough to store the blocks for many years to come. Also, don't miss out on some really fun factoids about the blocks and their origin on the inside of each package. Each set also includes The Tegu Story -- a booklet containing various building ideas and information about Tegu's social and environmental initiatives. There is something magical about watching a child's imagination unfold. The curiosity. The ingenuity. The creativity. Even more exciting is creating a product that unlocks a child's mind. We exist to create experiences that captivate children in safe, natural and innovative ways. At Tegu, this creativity also meets responsibility. Through socially responsible business practices and humanitarian efforts, we are dedicated to helping the Honduran community with reforestation, education and social outreach initiatives.

We received a smaller set of these as a gift and they were a delight so I purchased this set to add to our collection.I am not 100% satisfied with this purchase because of the rectangular blocks ... they are only magnetic on the tips/ends of the block, missing out on so much more building possibilities. The longest flat rectangles are much better with a magnet in the middle as well as the ends.Knowing this I think I would have chosen a set without these in them.

Bought it as a gift for my niece. She is likes it a lot and makes different types of things. Not fully magnetic like in the middle but serves the purpose. Happy with the product.

Me encantan. Tienen un acabado perfecto para que los niños los usen, se unen con fuerza de iman y eso los hace muy atractivos para los niños para crear figuras.

As an adult, I love the toy. But the magnets really frustrate my 22-month old. It's more of a educational tool for him to learn how to control his emotions. The building and hand-eye-coordination part of the learning is easy in comparison.

These magnetic blocks are brilliant. My little granddaughter (15 months) really likes them even though she is a little young. I am sure she will be playing with them for years to come and I can add to this set as she gets older.

Looks and feels lovely. A great adjunct to the usual bricks and Lego if you have a toddler that likes to build/make. Normal bricks and Lego are just as good and loved by my daughter in my opinion but these just offer something a little different to the mix. They are obviously very expensive so bought a moderate sized set which I think is adequate for us.

I think the product needs a bit more development. the concept is interesting but there are a few key issues1) the magnets need to be stronger - they do not hold the pieces in the position you would like, gravity takes effect and they simple fall down2) better placements of magnets - some of the pieces are useless because of the current placement of the magnets. Case in point, the bit rectangular blocks. Their magnets are on the very ends so you can attach pieces there but there are none on the sides or the middle, so its pretty much useless as a pieces and severely limits creativity and the amount of things you can use this piece for. -- one of the features they spin around as a positive to creativity is the working of a magnet in terms of its north and south pole. This means that certain pieces can be attached only in specific ways. This is a drawback that they spin into something that teaches, which i do agree with, but that should not be a limiting factor nor is this a good reason for the main problem here of the placements of the magnets3) playability - when i was a kid, and i had my lego set, i would build a plane or a train or a boat or a bird, and i would play with what i built, i would fly the plane around the room and the pieces for stay in place and i would be able to play with it like it was a toy plane. The pieces here, because of the above 2 problems, dont behave the same way. When you build something, for the most part, it stays on the table, stationary. If i made a 'plane' out of these and tried to lift it up and fly it around, the wings would droop down and the pieces would fall apart. - this limits creativity and imaginationI think the concept is neat and it can be improved on.(also, just speculation, but i find there are too many 5 star reviews here for this product and the majority of them are ver generic, some even have me questioning if we are talking about the same product.)
