How to connect 1/2 inch tubing
First Step
Use a hole punch drilling tool to punch holes in the 1/2" tubing
Second Step
Cut the 1/4" tubing length you need and connect to drip emitters
Third Step
Use a 1/4" barbed coupling fitting to conncect the 1/2" and 1/4" tubing
The Fourth Step
Use a 1/2" barbed end plug to block the 1/2" water line

For the price, it's great to get the barbed fitting and the emitter, plus the spike. Adjustment a bit finicky, but overall very happy with them.

For the past five years I have been buying a similar product at a nationally known big box store. Granted, we have a large yard and the low pressure pipe is 30+ feet with lots of 1/4 inch taps so the pressure at each sprayer is reduced. The sprayers I have been using just don't work, they dribble at best. I put one of these on and it sprayed a five inch radius, wonderful! A shorter pipe run with more pressure would result in a bigger spray pattern. The ones I have been using are $27 for 25 units, so this is a real bargain. As far as the noted difficulty getting the 1/4 inch pipe on the nipple, it is very hard. However, I used a few seconds of a heat gun at low setting and it slipped on effortlessly and gripped very well. Great product.

The description shows it is compatible with 4mm system. Maybe it is, but it is really really really hard to connect with a 4mm pipe. It might be better for 7mm but definitely not a good choice for 4mm pipe.

The built on stake is very useful for positioning. The flow rate can be very high or just a dribble, so it is easy to combine different sized containers on one system, or to water large areas. These are terminal fitting, no flow-through. For dribbling, you can tee several of these of a 4mm tube. It takes a lot of water at high flow - wide spray so each then needs its own 4mm tube from a larger (13mm) supply pipe.

As others mentioned the low end setting could use a bit more fine adjustment. The barb is larger then other brands which make it much tougher to install. I ended up using a screwdriver to stretch the tubing slightly before installing. Good value if you need large quantities and are not trying to conserve water.
