These modules are based on the LM386 IC which allows one to make a simple audio amplifier with a voltage gain of 20 to 200. I measured this one and the voltage gain is 20 to 25times, so this is meaning of"20 Times Amp" in the description, enough for some applications. Hiletgo offers a 200 times version , but I haven't tested it to see if this is indeed a different circuit ( requires additional parts) . I have applications where a gain of only 20 works, but a version with gain of 200 is more versatile and you need a higher gain if you are amplifying a microphone input. The device is sensitive to picking up the ripple (often 120 cycle per second) found on plug in wall power sources which can be annoying so best to operate it off a battery or better regulated power supply. The frequency response goes well beyond 50kHz ( which you can't hear) but without a low pass filter for audio range , this contributes to background noise. Still this unit comes with more compact surface mounted version of IC and with parts and hardware saves money and space. I would like to evaluate]test the "200 times Amp" version.

I didn't feel like getting all the stuff out and building another LM386 amp as I've just been too busy so took a chance on these little buggers. Sounded as good as the one I built minus a few bells and whistles I added which I no longer need or want. VERY impressive but I can do without the pre soldered Male Header Pins. Would have been nice to have all PCB Mount Screw Terminal Block Connectors but I purchased some breadboard jumper wires so I'm good

I got the 5 pcs lm386 audio amplifiers as I like to keep some of these on hand at all times. I use them in all sorts of small projects.They make nice little headphone amplifiers, or even mic amps with 325mw output.The chip used on these is the lm386-m1 if you need to know.sellers description is very accurate so I do not have much more to add.
