These lanyards turned out to be a bit thinner than I was visualizing. The wire inside the vinyl is soooo thin. 😳 I had to hold it up to the light to confirm that yes, there is indeed a piece of metal wire inside there. 🔍The hardware is medium-duty at best. ⚖️But, that being said:These lanyards are excellent for making sure tools are not dropped from heights. 🛠️🚫I was once working on the Vincent Thomas Bridge 🌉 and when I pulled something else out of my pocket a small 5mm wrench also got pulled from my pocket and it dropped from the platform height down to the base of the tower, traveling about 75 mph on impact. 🚀Fast enough to do some real damage if it had hit someone. 😬 I was SO lucky it only hit the ground and not a person or one of our work trucks.Another time I was working at the Shelby place in Irvine. 🏎️ They soup up Mustangs or whatever. (I'm not a car guy.) 🤷 Up on a scissor lift above a car that probably cost a quarter of a million dollars 💰 is NOT a good place to go dropping tools. 😅 Fortunately I didn't drop anything but you can bet I was sweating over it.Another situation that comes to mind is working in refineries 🏭 where you have to write an incident report ANY TIME you drop ANYTHING. 📋That's where these lanyards come in.You connect your "thing you don't want to drop" 🔗 to a belt or a secure wrist wrap or to your scissorlift or whatever is secure and then if you have a butter-fingers incident 🧈🤦 then you are saved. These are perfect for that purpose. ✅ They are spiraled up so that you don't have too much excess cord in your way getting tangled up on everything, but you still have enough stretch length for practical use. 🔄 The vinyl coating over the wire prevents it from scratching anything. 🛡️I chose the option that had two each of three different colors, which can even help you quickly identify tools that are tucked away without pulling them out.If you find yourself in any of these scenarios you will kick yourself for not having provided yourself with this simple bit of inexpesive insurance. 🔥

Work well for keeping tools attached. The loops could use to be a bit larger and the included key rings are thin so don't plan on using those. The lines seem a little thin but stretch and recoil nicely and the length works well.

I've been getting this sort of leash with everything I buy lately, so I've been exposed to a lot of them, and these are the better end of the scale. They're strong at both ends, use the full length for spiral, which means they're potentially longer than a lot of others, don't show any signs that they can be deformed - all what you'd want. The only drawback is the clips at the ends, which are rather small and cannot easily be attached to some of the items I'd want to attach to them. Really intended to attach to items with a 1/8" thick attachment point, so I'll probably end up cutting them off to put on larger (small) carabiners. But you do get six of them, so it's a good deal.

Manufacturer does a great job with the images, better than I. I got these to keep my small gear attached so I don't lose or drop them. I have them attached to my pliers, clippers, etc. I have the lanyard attached to my kayak not me. It makes it easy to hang them in front of me for use with no fears of dropping them out. Additionally they dont fall under the seat or slide to where they cannot be reached. It says the stretch to 60" which is wrong. They stretch somewhere between 24-36". They do lose some stretch in the sun, but I don't know if any of these type leashes that dont lose stretch in the heat.I also have one of these on my net that I let float in the water. Its a simple aluminum net, very light, it keeps it close to the boat for easy access. It works well. I have an additional one attached to the pool itself. Its long enough to allow easy fishing and it also allows me to let go when I need to do so.I cant speak to the rust proofing on these as they are not old enough. They rinse both salt and brackish water off easily. I like to soak them with my tools upon my return. So far no issues with clasp or connector failure. I am pretty rough on things.I would recommend these for your small items, solid product.

I'm absolutely thrilled with this remarkable retractable lanyard that has become an essential part of my outdoor adventures! Every fishing trip, I clip it to my vest and attach my favorite pliers, ensuring they're always within reach when I need to remove a hook quickly. The impressive 1.5-meter stretch gives me plenty of freedom to move while keeping my tools secure—no more frantically searching the bottom of my tackle box or worse, watching expensive gear sink into the lake! What I love most is the exceptional durability of the steel wire with TPU coating, which handles the weight of my equipment effortlessly while instantly retracting when released. The zinc alloy buckle and aluminum clamping end have proven remarkably rustproof even after repeated exposure to saltwater during my coastal fishing trips. This versatile accessory has expanded beyond fishing—I use it for hiking to secure my keys and compass, and during camping to keep essential tools handy. It's truly a game-changer for anyone who values both accessibility and security for their outdoor gear

I just received this item, while checking the length my initial thought was this is made rather cheap. It seemed a bit thin, then I considered what it is used for and figured it will work well. I didn't need 6 of these, but for the price I now have extras should this one break/
