Although it appears this radio has an analog tuner, radio stations don't seem to fade in and out when turning the dial. Instead they just sort of "pop" in and out. If I had to guess, this has a digital tuner with a rather large step, yet is controlled by an analog type wheel that is calibrated to show it's relative position on the frequency dial. If ever these two components fall out of alignment, I can see no way to fix it. In other words, in time, you'll see the dial pointing to one frequency yet get reception from another. That said, for the price this can do in a pinch. But I would spend a bit more if you were thinking of adding this to an emergency go bag. Better to get something a bit more precise and dependable if it is to be used in an emergency situation.

I'm pretty sure that if you live where you have a strong radio signal, this little radio would be just fine. Out where we live, the radio works sometimes and other times, we can barely hear anything.

This is a gem, sounds great, easy to toss in a purse or backpack for those places with bad cell reception. Got it for emergencies when winter or spring storms take out power. Second one, gave one to elderly mum.

I bought this radio (in black) specifically for the NOAA stations. Good reception and good sized antenna for the size of the radio. Touchy tuner and volume knobs, but it easily locks into a station. Great overall size to easily throw in a bag, and weighs almost nothing! I have other radios, but I'm glad I made this purchase!

I bought this to put in an emergency bag. It in inexpensive, lightweight, small and most importantly it tunes to weather band radio (broadcasted from GFW).It runs on AA batteries and has an antenna to help boost the signal (I didn’t need to use the antenna yet). The radio can switch between AM (picks up VOCM very nicely), FM and WB.The radio doesn’t have anything fancy but that is exactly what I was looking for. This isn’t a Bose speaker but the quality is good enough for its intended purpose of getting clear information when you need it. Also, for approx. $16 I think it is well worth it.I don’t work for this company. I am just very satisfied with this purchase and actually logged into Amazon to write a review.

We had an overnight planned power outage in my town. I knew the darkness and silence would freak out both my pets and me as I was coming home after the shutdown, so I bought this perfect little radio. It ran for 16 hours before I turned it off. The stations were clear, sound was ok, great little purchase .

Seems to perform well, good for an emergency kit/box. Sound is not that great but talk radio works good, so emergency broadcasts will come in loud and clear. I bought this incase of emp and phones are down. It will still need to be stored in a Faraday cage as it has a digital tuner. I mean for the money its nice and compact, feels like quality when held. I hope I never have to use it.
