I purchased these for my great grandson for Christmas they are really good and sturdy with lots of textures for him to explore.

I had no idea that the babies would love these as much as they do.There are so many different textures that the babies love to play with.They seem to be good quality, I hope they last along time

The sheep, and bear felt the same and could be described as soft. I like the sequins on the fish, the very soft long hair for the lion, and different textures for the frog, crocodile/alligator and zebra.

Only catch is maybe pulling out the hair from say the lion, but other than that our infant loves it

These are neat sensory mats. Most of them are soft materials. The quality definitely exceeded my expectations. They don't look cheap or like they will fall apart easily. My baby likes them and I feel it provides a teaching opportunity. These are advertised for autistic children but babies, toddlers and younger children would probably like these too.
