I have been using this mini wired controller almost a month and I am very pleased with it.The Positives:- The controller feels well-built and functions, for the most part (see below), as well as a first party Xbox controller.- Since it’s wired, no more worrying about batteries. Not having to buy or change rechargeable batteries all the time is a huge plus!- The controller has a few different light modes. They do not serve any practical purpose but do look nice. The Negatives:- The controller while compact, can start to get uncomfortable. If you have smaller hands, you might actually find the compact size more comfortable. But if you have average or large hands, this controller might start to become uncomfortable during longer play sessions.- There does seem to be some input lag, more than a wireless controller, not an issue for single player offline games, but I notice it for any online games.

My boys have been bugging me to buy a fourth controller so we can all play Halo multiplayer. So fun. They knew this brand and were stoked when it popped up. The size is perfect for the 8 year old. His favorite color is green so he's taken complete ownership of it. He was excited to show me the light up features as well. It is wired so you have to sit closer to the console or order a longer cable, which I did. We have tons of rechargeable batteries, so that's not really an issue for me. I personally prefer a wireless controller for $5 more, but he doesn't seem to mind. Quality is excellent, perhaps better than the name brand. Don't hesitate if it fits your need.

This 8BitDo Ultimate mini wired controller promises to deliver the same premium experience as its larger sibling, the Ultimate C controller, but in a more portable package.Despite its smaller size, it feels incredibly well-built and comfortable to hold, even during extended gaming sessions. It is lightweight yet sturdy. The ergonomic design ensures a secure and natural grip, allowing for precise control and minimal hand fatigue.I love the inclusion of hall effect joysticks and triggers. These advanced components provide an incredibly smooth and responsive experience, with no noticeable lag or drift. The RGB lighting is simply breathtaking. The vibrant and customizable "fire ring" around the joysticks creates an immersive visual experience and the ability to control the brightness (warning: the default setting is very bright) and colour scheme adds a personalized touch. These interactive lights not only look stunning but also provide useful feedback during gameplay.Compatibility is another strength of this controller. I was able to seamlessly connect it to my Xbox Series X, Xbox One X and Windows 10 devices without any issues. The plug-and-play functionality ensures a quick and smooth setup. You do have to press the Xbox logo in the middle to turn on the controller. You can also update the firmware of the controller from the Xbox by installing the 8BitDo app from the Microsoft store. The sound quality is equally impressive, with crisp audio once I connected my headphones to the controller. It also comes with a 1 month trial of Game Pass Ultimate which is a great value add.

One of the things I've always disliked about the xbox controllers was that they were too large for my hands. I used to use a ps4 controller on my pc for years until connectivity issues and general durability of them made me finally switch to an xbox one controller. I got used to the uncomfortable grip after a while but then I had the opportunity to try this controller and it is basically perfect for me! It's small and lightweight but substantial enough that it doesn't feel terribly cheap. The lights are very beautiful; if not a little blinding upon first use but the brightness can be adjusted. The only complaint I have is that it's wired connection only. Otherwise it's basically perfect!

But not so small as to be hard to use.The other day I was trying to get my Batocera machine up and running with the Luna controller but it wouldn't pair. So I broke out this controller and I was off to the races.I love the build quality, the LED's look pretty great. It feels like a solid, well built controller. This is certainly NOT the controller you would give to your younger sibling for instance. It doesn't feel plasticky at all.If I had 1 gripe it would be the USB C port. It's recessed meaning if you want to use a longer USB C cable with this thing, it better have a nice, small end on it otherwise it won't fit in the recessed hold for the USB C port. I don't know if they did this for strain relief or something but it feels almost like a design oversight.

I picked this up mainly for my partner, who has smaller hands and always found full-size Xbox controllers a bit awkward. She actually prefers this one—it’s lighter, easier to grip, and doesn’t leave her fingers stretched out. I’ve used it a bit too, and even with average-sized hands, it still feels comfortable for shorter sessions. The buttons are quiet but tactile, and the D-pad is surprisingly solid—better than a lot of controllers I’ve tried in this price range. The RGB rings around the sticks are a fun touch (though yeah, they’re pretty bright at first), and it’s cool that you can dial them back. The hall effect sticks and triggers feel smooth and precise, which is not something I usually expect in a smaller budget controller. It’s wired-only, but the USB-C cable is detachable, so it’s easy to pack or replace if needed. Worked right away on both Windows and Xbox with no setup headaches. If you want a smaller controller that doesn’t feel cheap, this one’s been a solid pick so far.

This is a solid choice for a small, wired controller that isn't a 1st party one from Microsoft. Has no problem working on Xbox or on PC. 8bitdo is THE band to go to for 3rd party controls, that either match or exceed the original controllers for their platform.

This "8BitDo" branded Ultimate Mini immediately caught my eye when I came across the listing. I have some 8BitDo controllers for retro style consoles along with an Arcade Stick, but I was interested in checking this out for Xbox and Windows use. After living with this for a few weeks, this has turned out to be a pretty decent controller and I am impressed with it. It is working just as described in the listing and I appreciate all of the integrated features. It has very good build quality and feels very comfortable to hold. It is a little bit smaller than controllers I generally use for Windows/PC use, but I found that to be no issue at all in the end.Overall, I really like this controller. It has good build quality with good ergonomics and works just as intended. It is feature rich and the RGB lighting effects are very cool. At a listing price of $45.99, I feel this is in keeping with the great quality and functionality of this controller. I would certainly consider this 8BitDo Ultimate Mini as a premium type controller. I certainly feel this is worth considering.Oh.. the inclusion of 1 month of Xbox Game Pass is a nice bonus!Recommended!
