About this item

  • Versatile Control: This speed controller with rheostat is perfect for bench testing, experimentation, industrial applications, and DIY projects.
  • Adjustable Voltage: With AC 120-220V input and adjustable voltage output (0-220V), you can easily control the speed of your motor to your desired level using the rheostat.
  • High Power Handling: Capable of handling a maximum power of 4000W, this motor speed controller with rheostat is equipped with an amp regulator and peak voltage absorption circuit, providing reliable protection to the high-power thyristor.
  • Safety Features: The controller has zero hysteresis, delay, surge, and spike protections for reliable performance. Note: Max power limit is 1500W for inductive loads (fans, routers, soldering irons, small motors) and 4000W for resistive loads (kettles, stoves, tungsten lamps).
  • Compatibility: Please note that this controller with rheostat is not suitable for smart appliances with complex circuit boards. Please refer to the note provided regarding smart appliances and load limitations for optimal performance.

This is a versatile variable speed controller from ZOWZEA, perfect for controlling the speed of a wide range of electric appliances, including handheld routers, electric kettles, electric stoves, electric soldering irons, tungsten lamps, small motors, and more. The controller features variable voltage control, providing an adjustable voltage output of 0-220V and a maximum power of 4000W. It also comes equipped with multiple protections, including zero hysteresis, zero delay, anti-surge, and anti-spike protections. It's important to note that this controller is not suitable for use with smart appliances that have complex circuit boards. I use it for a Panasonic adjustable speed wand vibrator to slow it down. The wand, while adjustable, still runs too fast for my neck. This controller slows it down enough to make it usable for me.

Cheap, for sure. And sorta kinda actually does control motor speed more or less.Voltage display is showing pretty random values. Right now, I have a motor running, maybe, at about 50% of output speed and the display is showing 162V (plugged into a standard 110v outlet). If I change the motor speed? Display will jump around between 20V and 190V.But, yeah, it sorta kinda mostly does actually work.1 star if you were expecting a solid variac style speed controller.I give it 4 stars because I got exactly what I expected; a shoddily made, works by coincidence, motor speed controller whose voltage display might as well be a random number.

Bought this item on 29 Feb 2024 to slow down the speed of a small muffin fan that provides auxiliary cooling air to the electronic audio components inside a large enclosed stereo cabinet. See attached image. The reason I selected this AC controller was because there is a video on the Amazon site showing this device actually running a muffin fan that looks just like mine. See attached image. The first unit I ordered was partially defective the first time I turned it on. When connected to my muffin fan, the red digital voltage display remained at 000 no matter what the voltage control was set to. The display is supposed to change and give the output voltage value as the dial is rotated. The actual output voltage changed by rotating the dial, but no matter what the dial was set to, the display remained at 000 all the time. I returned the unit for a replacement. The second unit arrived in 2 days The red digital voltage display worked correctly the first time I tested this second unit with a 100w light bulb as the load. After I turned the unit off and back on again the digital readout remained at 000 no matter what the voltage control was set to. As before, the actual output voltage changed by rotating the dial, but no matter what the dial was set to, the display continued to read 000 all the time.A previous reviewer mention he also received a defective unit. He found a disconnect wire inside the box and, being electrically handy, soldered it back in place. He said this could have been an electrocution hazard for anyone not skilled enough to fix it.Based on this experience, I immediately returned the second unit for a refund.Buyer beware !!

My fan has only ON and OFF. Putting this in-line makes it a variable speed fan, with very fine control. I'm very happy with this. When my fan is ON, the force is too much for most uses. Now, I can adjust it to what I need.

We purchased this to control the temperature of a branding iron for stamping lables on leather. The output of the iron was too hot at 2000 watts and we needed to lower the temperature of the iron. With this device we were able to set the input voltage of the iron to 90 volts which reduced the wattage of the iron and gave us better control over the temperature of the iron so we aren't burning the leather. Of course this device has many other uses as well such as limiting the input voltage to Neon Sign power supplys and controlling the rate of speed of electric motors. I'm sure with your inginuity you could come up with lots of other applications you might be able to use this device for.
