This review is based on the fact that description can be misleading, and there is a good chance that the item will not fit your vehicle. I could not use the alternator, so I can't comment on its quality or longevity.I purchased this item for a 1977 Lincoln Mark V, and found out after the fact that the vehicle was built with two different alternators: the connections on one are "wire and post", while the second (which is a much larger unit) features plug-type connections. The two are not interchangeable. This is the smaller type, with the wire and post connections, and did not fit my vehicle, even though, having entered my vehicle details, the description boldly stated that this was the correct component. On the positive side, Amazon quickly issued a refund, and I am now searching for the correct component (Amazon does not stock it).

Trying to fix my car, I've worked with a few equivalent units from different places, and this was one of the most affordable AND seems to be the highest quality and quietest. So far, it's providing enough power and the car has been running great.
