As a thoroughbred of aviation, the Supermarine Spitfire was constantly evolving during World War II, and new versions of the fighter aircraft were never far from being included in the RAF squadrons. The aircraft used in the Battle of Britain were to be significantly improved, but during development, the Air Force introduced its latest variant of the Bf 109, which shoots the Spitfires in large numbers - there was an urgent need for action. The Spitfire Mk.V was basically an upgraded Mk.II cell equipped with the latest version of the Merlin engine that gave the aircraft higher altitude performance, and this variant was eventually supposed to equip more than 140 RAF squadrons. 73 pieces, length built 142.5 mm / width 173.6 mm / height 68.1 mm.
