There is not a chance that this switch can handle 300 amps. It is made of plastic, not bakelite. My last switch melted when I tried to fun my AC my batteries. I ordered this switch hoping it was made better but it is no better than my old switch. It has the same construction. I would not buy this again, get a disconnect from Home Depot instead.

This is a nice safe addition to our gazebo. We never have to worry about shutting down the fan or lights because the switch does it all. Also we don’t have to worry about water /rain at this switch.

Used switch in a small off grid battery system. Takes #2 wire lugs no problem.Good solid build, so should last.
