The rubber reinforced face nubs and waffle design provide crush proof scraping action. The raised rubber "water dam" border traps dirt and water, keeping them off carpet and floors. We got this for the front entrance to protect the hardwood floor. We have not had much snow this year, so has not been really tested yet. It is heavy, so it stays in place nicely, the grooves remove dirt and water from the shoes. Easy to clean.

Mat is 45" x 69", not 48" x 72" as advertised. I needed it to fit in a very particular place and it is too small. Very disappointing. Mat, however, is a good quality which lays flat and is quite heavy. Just disappointed about the size. 4x6' was perfect, this leaves 3 inch gaps all around.

*Edit: 3 years later, my comment below remains true. *I'd like to echo all the other positive comments about these rugs. I bought two of them for my front entrance and they're good looking and durable.In the 6 months I've had them they've stood up well to snowy boots and my big dog's claws scratching them. I'm not sure what she's digging for in the mat, but it doesn't matter! There's no damage to be seen.I shake them outside every couple of months and they look as good as new. I strongly recommend them!

this is a great product that serves the purpose for which it was designed as a heavier duty, water, dirt or mud type catcher. we use it in front of our kitchen sink to provide a better surface than the tile to be standing on and to catch the slurping and drips from our most valuable family member, MAX the wonderdog, who lacks anything that resembles manners when he drinks water from his bowl (conveniently also placed on the rug, lol). this product works so well we are considering purchase of another to replace the rug we have by our rear sliding windows to the patio to perhaps gain an advantage over the sometimes wet and muddy paws that are just part of the deal in living in the tropics. i would certainly recommend this item if you believe it meets your needs. well made, color true, stays where you put it, and pretty easy on your feet.

loved it so much I tried buying a second one---and a week later AMAZON had increased the price by 300% over the first price!! Bought the first one for $62.00---5 days later the same carpet was $185.00. What gives?? Great carpet though. I'm on hold right now trying to get the second carpet down to the price of the first one.
