Typically, these loops are connected via grounds, more commonly called “ground loops”. The safest way to eliminate unwanted noise is with the CleanBOX II.

Does not require a power source!Easy to set up and use!Reduced but did not eliminate the buzzing in my studio monitors which seems related to power fluctuations in my gpu.

I bought this because my studio montiors and my Scarlett 2i2 were buzzing when I plugged into a different outlet. After a solid 2 weeks of frustrated, mood altering testing... I went with this as a last purchase, given I didn't want the extra cordage an a big box. Well, it WORKS!HumX didn't work. Updating drivers didn't work. Different outlets didn't work. It wasn't a coil whine either. It was clear to me it was a ground loop when I unplugged my laptop from power and everything worked great. Now with my PC, everything sounds perfect!

I read a few reviews of this hum elminator which were generally positive so I took the plunge and bought one. I have a few hum issues with my guitar rig, pedal board, etc. The unit reduces the volume of the guitar signal by at least a half, if not more, killing tone and making is almost unable to drive a valve amp. I then tried it after the pedal board, turing the output volume of the pedals up to try and boost the signal enough to try and get a reasonable signal going into the amp. Whilst that did help a bit, the tone is still all but destroyed. I can see this unit would be very useful for some applicaitons and some audio equipment so I'm going to keep it. The one thing it is not good for is a guitar rig.
