She has curly hair and has been looking for something like this to wear under hats in the summer to protect her curls. Here are her comments:- These are fantastic for anyone who wants to protect their short to medium hair's texture, or scalp, or the hair in general.- I have worn one or the other of these bonnets daily for more than a month throughout the hottest part of the summer.- The material is a light, one layer, polyester satin with outside being smoother than the inside. That said, the inside is still smooth enough to protect curls without causing frizz or breakage. I received one in navy with a floral and paisley pattern and the other in black with what looks like a European horse bridle pattern.- The cap is edged with a wide headband that has a light elasticity to it. This helps to keep the cap in place without squeezing the wearer's head.- There is another, smaller and tighter elastic at the back of the bonnet that helps to keep the wearer's hair in. This feature is very similar to an old fashioned snood.- The back ties are cut directly from the bonnet's statin and are stitched to the head band. They can tie under the snood to allow for longer hair to hang out. This is a great feature if you have long hair and want to use the bonnets to protect it when wearing hats and caps. If you have shorter hair like I do, I tie them over the snood portion to keep my hair completely covered.- The bonnets, as mentioned, are great for protecting my hair if I want to wear a hat. Curly hair has a habit of matting, frizzing, and flattening under caps so I would regularly tie my hair up in a satin or silk scarf prior to donning a baseball cap but, the scarf never staying in place. These bonnets make it easy for me to throw on a ball cap to take the dog for a walk, or toss on a sun hat to garden. Afterwards, I can take off the hat and bonnet and simply shake my curls out. No matting. No frizz. No hat head.- The bonnets look great on their own too! A lot of mornings, I will simply tie on a bonnet to walk the dog. This is especially beneficial for my hair in high humid or buggy conditions which makes these bonnets a must-have for being outdoors. When it comes to camping, I simply sleep in them too.- The bonnets are easy to clean. Handwashing is recommended although I have been known to put them into a delicate's bag and toss them in the washing machine on gentle cycle in cold water. Hang them to dry and they dry really quickly and without wrinkles. Also, they tend not to absorb and hold on to smells which is great for sitting around a campfire.- Come winter, I will still continue to wear one of these bonnets under a tuque to protect my hair. I can see these two bonnets getting a lot of wear all year long. I may have to order a few more if the manufacturer brings out more colour combos.Highly recommended.In the event that experiences change or evolve, updates may be made to this review to address such developments.
