Discs do not expand. Soaked them in water just to see and barely any expansion. Lack of expansion does not trigger rain sensor. Do not waste your money.

Disc's easy to install. Tested after rain and work. Original ones after 18 months no longer expanded when it rained.

Replaced old ones but didn't work. Unfortunately I think the sensor is bad.

Our Hunter Wireless Rain Sensor stopped working. I checked online and realized that the battery never needs replacing. I found a YouTube video that suggested it could be the Hygroscopic Discs in the wireless sensor. It was a simple replacement and the discs fit perfectly. See the photo of the old discs and how over time, they got mildewy, dirty and dried up thereby failing to expand when rain falls. It took me ten minutes to replace the discs and the sensor is working perfectly again! Best of all, this item saved me over $100 from having to buy a new sensor!
