The mat itself is a nice color/ texture, but it is not 1" thick. It's 1/4" like most of the others. Had I known I'd have saved some money and gotten one of the others, as I did not need it for its large size, but rather the thickness.

The color is so vibrant and has a fun safari pattern. It is absolutely HUGE! I have it folded in half to fit one space and opened all the way up to fit another. It comes with a carry bag making it super easy to travel with. Cleaning it takes just a simple rag and 10 seconds.

Nice mat and the thickness is great (it is thicker than most available mats). Covers a large area and is right vibrant. The mat is textured so it is non slip and allows baby the chance experience different surfaces. Clean up is a breeze. The only down side is that the mat is quite crunchy sounding under bare feet - easy to wake a nearby sleeping baby unless you wear socks across it. I had to throw some clothing down when my baby was sleeping so the sound didn’t wake him when I walked across it.

I absolutely love this mat for the most part. It’s the perfect size for baby to do multiple alligator rolls on and still remain on it. I love it because it covers a good chunk of the usual floor that gets all foot traffic and it is easy to clean so I don’t have to worry about my baby clawing up junk from the carpet or other germs that may reside there. I just flop this out when it’s play time and when play time is over is simply wipe it clean with disinfectant wipes or whatever, it folds up in less than 10 sec and I put it away. I had to return the first one because there was just a tiny tear on the surface upon arrival. I could have probably just dealt with it because it was so small but I wanted to have one in perfect condition. We will see how durable it is after I use it for a while.Update: received the second one and just after one days use it already had a tear in it and we have no idea what from because we don’t drag anything across it. Seems to be just something that has happened throughout the time baby has played on it. So the only downfall is that the covering needs to be made of a more durable material.

Santa brought us this mat after he scoured the internet for a good quality play mat for our 6 month old!! Santa always chooses wisely. He didn’t want to spend a mint on a play mat that will only get used for a few months and I don’t blame him. Yeah he loved the ones that look like those beautiful rugs, but he knows better than to waste money like that. The kid crawls on it for maybe 6 months and then he’s running wild through the house and Santa knew figured this would at least be worth a try. Glad he gave it a try because it’s great quality and have great cushion. It’s giant which is awesome. It does have raised letter and will leave an imprint on bare skin if you don’t move for a bit. Although baby has never gotten any imprint on himself, that’s just my problem. I think this is a great buy for the money! Highly recommended by Santa! ;)
