I sowed the seed and watered it according to directions, but got hardly any seed to germinate and grow. I decided to purchase some similar grass seed locally and it germinated and grew very nicely. I wouldn't recommend this seed and have to agree with similar complaints about it.

The seed seems good , but a pound of seed isn’t much

I think the weather did it in. I can't see the grass.

I've seen some negative reviews with this grass seed, but there are some things to remember. If your grass hasn't been growing, you need to either aerate your soil with a tiller or break up the soil with a metal rake. Its important to get rid of any rocks in the soil and weeds as well. You may also have to put down more soil prior to putting down the seed. Also, you'll need to water immediately after putting the seed and often (once every day or two days tops). Unfortunately, its a constant battle and work to get your grass growing. As for the grass seed, we have had a lot of positive results after following the steps I've outlined above. Our back yard was in terrible shape prior to putting down the seed. Kentucky Bluegrass is great for the mid-atlantic region of the US. We live in PA and Kentucky Bluegrass is perfect for our area. Each bag is only a pound, which won't cover a lot of area. Since the first bag worked well, we ordered an additional 4 bags. The majority of our lawn has grown over the last month. You should know its working after a week or 2 as you'll see grass beggining to come through the soil. You have to be patient, but it has a nice green color and grows in nice and thick.

It took awhile to see any results from this seed. And even then..we're only talking 1/2 to 2/3 of the seed actually germinating. Admittedly, I didn't lay down any pre-fertilizer ahead of sowing the seed. That def could be a factor. It certainly got plenty of moisture(from the copious amounts of rain we've been receiving in Southern Illinois). I guess this isn't bad grass seed for the money(but, honestly, don't expect a stand of grass to develop as you see in the picture on front of the package) It's good...not great.
