Flimsy to the point of being non-functional. Prongs are too narrow and too thick. One can pull a "no-issues" cork with it, but that's not what I need this kind of opener for.

I’ll never curse an old bottle of wine again ! Cork screws almost always obliterate corks on older bottles of wine, leaving me straining and fishing pieces of cork from my glass. This tool eliminates that problem. 5 stars ! It’s high quality material and very easy to use.

I wished I bought one of this before I ruined some of my great vintage wine. There’s a learning curved to use this but once you get the hang of it….powwww!!! Enjoy your great vintage wine.

Soon after this wine opener arrived, we had a broken cork. The wine opener was very effective in removing the cork quickly and efficiently. No more struggling with broken corks!

Belwares Ah So Wine OpenerAbsolutely fantastic! Perfect gift to any wine lover. No more broken corks or cork chunks in your wine. Especially those great older bottles where after 20-30+ years the cork starts to fragment. With a rocking motion this slides in easily then with a twisting back and forth the cork pulls out easily. You just have to remember to keep the bottle slightly upright to not pour any out as the cork comes because I have a tenancy to hold the bottles nearly sideways when twisting out the cork.It is compact for easy travel for picnics, does not take up much space in the drawer and this one seems to be heavy duty. No rust after a couple years so really seems to be stainless.

We had one for years and some how it bent and so we bought this new one. I love the fact that you can use this opener to re-cork the wine bottle with no problem by pushing down on the opener go where you want the cork then wiggle the opener back and forth while gently pulling upward. No more broken corks.

Works fine but you need to push out very hard, and still break the cork

I bought one of these because recently I had several bottles of wine where the cork was crumbling and the conventional corkscrew openers could not pull out the cork. These take a little more time, patience and strength but work well. I was able to make it work on the 1st try. I had one bottle where the cork was very tight so it took more hand strength to get it out but it worked on that also. People with little patience should look elsewhere though.

Is a 2-prong Ah-So cork puller better than the traditional corkscrew-type wine opener for removing fragile corks from older cellared wines? To answer this question, three bottles of a fully-mature 1995 Tokaji Furmint dessert wine with sugar crystals on the bottom of the corks were chilled to the same temperature. The first two attempts at uncorking employing different high-quality corkscrew wine openers with long worms suffered the same outcome ... fractured corks leaving the soft/adherent lower end of the cork still firmly attached to the neck of the bottle and pieces of cork contaminating the wine below. The final attempt at removing the cork intact with a Belwares Ah-So wine opener was successful ... photo attached. Subsequent trials with even older wines and longer 2-1/8" corks were equally successful. The Belwares Ah-So Wine Opener is an attractive unit with two different length stainless steel prongs ... a longer 2-3/8" & a shorter 2-1/4" countoured blade and tapered end, safely housed in a metal holding case. The handle securing the two prongs also functions as a bottle cap opener. The opener comes in hinged display case imprinted with user's instructions. The included instructions are incomplete and are likely responsible for any negative comment/review involving this Ah-So wine opener. A new user should first thoroughly review a YouTube video on "how to use an Ah-So wine opener" before attempting to use this type of wine opener. When correctly used, this attractively-priced all-metal Ah-So wine opener performed flawlessly with a wide selection of aged wines. My only suggestion to tweak its performance is to improve the taper at the sides & tips of the countoured prong blades to make it easier to insert and reduce the risk of pushing in the cork. The Belwares Ah-So Wine Opener is a good performer and a great buy.

The Ah So simplifies opening an old bottle of wine. A corkscrew generally pulls out the center of an old cork, leaving lots of cork to fish out. Unless the cork is really falling apart, the Ah So makes it possible to keep the cork together and to get all or most of the cork out of the bottle. It is easy to use and more successful than my expensive corkscrew with a levered handle on wines from vintages between 1985 and 1990. Plus it is an economical solution. It appears to be more durable and sleek than the plastic ones which sometimes have problems with the prongs getting bent, but I have only used it 3 times, not enough to evaluate durability.
