This material looks cheaper than what they used before. I'm not 100% sure about it, but that's the impression I get. I've been playing for 35 years and haven't used these in the last decade... mostly because they tend to get stretched out over time.Eventually, this ligature conforms to your mouthpiece, but in the beginning, it's a bit awkward to put on.The sound is good. Reeds vibrate freely, but are relatively well secured. It's worth having unless you fiddle with your mouthpiece. In that case, you're running a very high chance it will come loose together with the reed. The last bunch I used got stretched out over time... too short a time for me.I'm going to try this one and see where it goes.

I bought this ligature because of the reviews and price. I have found that most any ligature will work to hold the reed in place but what makes the difference is the tone and feel of the music the ligature helps the player produce.

This ligature is good to use, but it's too wide for bass clarinet. I may be for saxophone? I am not sure.
