Maybe it's an installation problem for others or not changing the channels it operates on if there is interference or what. In my case it was perfect. The install couldn't be easier. Pads for surface so it doesn't slip, foam dual sticky sided 3m mounting pads and magnets to attach it to metal were all included. The size of these is amazingly small. As far as spread speed etc. I have a closet about 30ft from the TV and it is immediate response. I use it with a Sofabaton because that remote doesn't have it built in its only IR is the hub which sits inside my closet.Plugged the blaster in behind my TV andounted it on the bottom lip of my LG OLED. Insanely discreet size.Overall worked out of the box as expected. With receiver and blaster IR built in you can go solo or plug in the included wired extenders on each end.Overall very well thought out product, packaging and execution. Probably a life long Sewell fan.

This unit does not work well. We purchased it to control a single device, (Arris VIP 2502 cable box) and it's terrible. It takes multiple button presses on the remote before it decides to do anything, and when it does it's extremely laggy. Now I have a hole in the wall where we installed it because I didn't test the thing beforehand.Would not recommend this.

works perfectly. 2 minutes to install it. You have to point your remote accurately for receiver to receive the signal. hardly any lag time! U might have to hold the remote buttons just a little longer then normal. a few times the receiver "pucks" light shows that its getting a signal, but nothing happens.I ran a 50' HDMI cable to a second T.V (purchased separately) and used this IR remote repeater, to access my Bell express Vu PVR and receiver in another room.

BlastIR Wireless Pro works extremely well. Response time is fantastic and it was a breeze to setup in my media cabinet.Manual is very helpful but anyone needing an IR repeater in the first place is probably savvy enough to install these with almost no help, they are dead simple. This kit also includes everything you need, I really don't think Sewell does enough justice to their product on this page.It includes:2 x USB power cables with 3.5mm (to unit) to USB (to power source), fairly long but of course, USB can be easily extended if you need. They also include two USB wall-chargers to power the devices. I love that these are separate and not attached to the cables. I have USB ports on my power strip, so I didn't need to use the chargers and fill up more outlets. The kit also includes an extension for the receiver (blue) so you could hide the receiver if the small (and non-intrusive, dim greenish-coloured) light on the receiver bothers you. You could also potentially pass the extender through small holes, around corners, or maybe through walls so you can control devices through even the most challenging of setups. There is also a long, dual-headed extender for the emitter. The cable comes with the heads together and you can peel them apart for only as much cable mess as you need. Allows for more control over more devices, but of course brings more wires to the mix. Then there are the adhesives. Reusable or permanent 3M adhesives for the units. There are two magnetic feet with a strong magnet if you need to stick to metal surfaces. The included extender cables also have adhesives on all the heads. Sewell really did include it all and I was happy I didn't have to think about how I was going to stick bits to things. An excellent product and a premium package. Sewell definitely gained a fan.

This keystone jack IR receiver works flawlessly with a dual-band control unit that has 12V power supply (doesn't have to be Sewell's BlastIR.) It allows you to have a professional-looking installation when you run a CAT5e or CAT6 cable in the wall or ceiling to the control unit -- no dangling cables, double-sided tape, etc. I like that it has a blue LED which lights up when it receives the IR signal from a remote control. The only minor issue I had was I could not get it to positively click into the keystone slot on two different-brand keystone blanks. Nothing that a utility knife can't fix.Highly recommended.

This wireless IR blaster was easy to activate and works well.I have a Pioneer amplifier in a cabinet about 15 feet from a Sony TV. I located the Sewell receiver just under the TV next to the IR receiver for the TV. I located the emitter in front of the amplifier behind 3/4" cabinet doors. The receiver and emitter units are each connected to an AC/DC transformer or a USB power supply by a thin power cord. No other wires. The receiver and emitter worked right out of the box. No fussy pairing - no problems. I can now point the remote controls at the TV and control the amplifier. The Sewell receiver/emitter works with the remote for the Sony TV, the remote for the Pioneer amplifier and the remote for the Shaw cable box.The included cables and other parts look interesting and I may use them later to clean up the install.I recommend this product.

I hesitated on this purchase for over a year after my original IR repeater failed on the rogers to bell switch. Went with another brand with no joy.But finally i discovered a post that mentioned the problem with the bell pvrs was that they used the rare RC-MM protocol. He mentioned sewell supported this with the pro version. I had been looking at the other version. So i asked my question hoping to get some reassurance. But i bought it anyways while i waited for the responses. The Shipping was fast. The package is elegant. Best of all, it actually works! WOOT!! Initially, i thought it only kinda worked. But then i discovered that i was just too close to the tv at about 6 feet away testing. But back 12-15 feet for normal viewing, and this device works beyond expectations! If i point the remote in the opposite direction (white room)... it still works (instant responses) :)The only lille niggle i have ...is that the ir receiver has a constant green light and lights up red when remote activated. great for testing but...But yah, overall, i am beyond happy with the results!edit may 28th: I now realize that I mistakenly put the ir emitter eye over the record light instead of the pvr sensor just beside. When I put the eye over the sensor, the remote barely works. I now have the eye on the other side of the sensor. The remote works perfectly if I aim it slightly away from the ir receiver on the tv. It even works up to 180 from the receiver. So I conclude the signal is very strong. I have not tried the tape in between device and the emitter yet. So ... almost perfect :)

Easy to install. Great range. Very responsive. It was so simple using the Sewell system. I loved the instant success without any troubleshooting or tomfoolery. I now use my remote from the dining room in my open floor plan. I had to be 5ft or less to get my receiver to function before and now its 40+ or even further if I do a little aiming.Love this product and happy I didn't pay $100s for other professional AV models.

I used to have an IR blaster kit. Worked pretty well, but didn't look integrated into the room. (Little black box eyeball thing you had to install somewhere) Where as these look seamless with the rest of the switches on the room. Here are the features I loved.1: It has a little blue led that flashes when it sees a signal from your remote. you don't have to guess if it is working.2: the panel in the room you send the signal to has a little power adapter that you can plug into a receiver or other unit that has a 110 volt plug thing on the back of the stereo equipment. So when you turn on the stereo, it powers the little dc power supply. If you do that, a little red light comes on in the room with the infra red receiver letting you know the stereo or other device actually turned on and is powered. We used to wonder if the signal actually made it to the device because you can't see it in the other room and you won't be wondering if you left the stereo on all night. You can just use an easy to find network cable for the wire you run from one unit to the other. Just twist the oranges, greens, blues, etc. together as pairs and stick the pairs into the board on the back. No soldering needed, just little screw terminals. and no 110 volt ac wires to run. Just poke a hole in the wall for one of these... Arlington LV1-1 (low voltage gang box adapter) you just screw the tabs in place and since it is low voltage you don't need any complicated in-wall gang box. (one note.. after using those for years, I noticed there are little holes in the gang box plates. You poke a pencil though the holes to mark the perfect size hole to cut in the wall. I used to measure them all with a tape measure). Great time saver. You will not regret buying these.Thank you for your time.
