I've had this now for 3 months. after nearly 3months I had to replace the batteries. 2AA.It says that changing the recording settings, motion sensitivity, can impact the ESTIMATED 2YR battery lifespan.I had motion sensitivity to 5, and recording to 20s.I've since reduced sensitivity to 2 (default), and recording to 10s (default is 5s)IR is auto (default)Recording quality is standard (default)The motion detection mask. This doesn't work.The Sync 2 module corrupted my USB memory card after the Feb 21,2025 - 16.0.24 fw update. Because after this date, my recordings were no longer viewable from the app. I reformatted the card - from my MAC, I had to delete the Sync 2 module to get it to get setup on my home network. This worked for 1 day.I tried reformatting the USB card again, and it was not being read by either my MAC or WIN PC.I have since been using a LEXAR 64GB memory stick. It worked for about 6 days. And then on March 2, 2025 I had deleted the Sync 2 module and re-added it. I even reformatted the USB stick to ExFat (as per instructions on app).Called Blink support Feb 22 and Mar 2. They saw no errors. Asked me to try another USB memory card/stick.They will not send me a new Sync 2 module because everything is GREEN from their end. No errors.Even though I'm encountering errors. It may be that the errors are not being logged.I'll see how long it works after today.I'll call support again before doing any remediation to get it to work. I believe there's an issue with the Sync 2 module. But on the Blink side. It's working as expected. No errors logged.I would consider other options.

Made an excellent choice to buy this home security camera. No monthly subscription needed. It’s wireless and easy to set up. The camera records in clear 1080p HD during the day and has infrared for good night vision. You can access live video from your phone and talk through the camera with two-way audio. You may to use lithium batteries. We had snow storms for days and had no trouble with it. Overall, it’s a reliable, easy-to-use camera to help protect your home.

I have numerous Blink cameras that I use for security at my own home and monitoring a cabin over the winter. The new Blink 4 is improved over the older versions. It has a wider range of view and the image is much clearer. I haven’t had any issues with connecting although it will occasionally buffer and not show a live view. It seems to happen randomly and I haven’t not been able to solve that specific issue. The only downside is the high cost of the Blink subscription. The cameras can be used without it but it is not as effective.
