Using a PCI-e to quad SFF "dummy" board this cable worked flawlessly. A bit short but given it's having to do PCI-E 3.0 (was a 4.0 port but A 3.0 device, so reverts down)This was merely me testing. Worked flawlessly. Comes with a cover to prevent damage on both sides. Sata Power plugged in more solidly than I thought.Little pricey for what it is but it's uncommon specialty device.Edit: I have 8 of these now working flawlessly with 2 of those 16x to quad 4x slots in my TrueNAS server.

Had a PCIe adapter card that had the drive mounted directly, but it got incredibly hot due to being sandwiched between the GPU and a sound card. An adapter with a SFF-8643 and this cable allowed me to move the drive to a bay at the front of the PC, with an Evercool dual 5.25 to 2.5" drive bay used to mount it. I also attached a chipset heatsink to the drive, just because, and now it runs fairly close to ambient, instead of 30C above.Bit of an expensive solution, since the cable, PCIe card and drive mount add up to almost £70, just to move the drive 30cm from the back to the front of the case, but as it's a £2k SSD, I didn't want to shorten its lifespan by running it hot so, in that regard, it's worth it.

Useful cable to upgrade your PC and add fast storage. Prices keep coming down and this is a good way to update your PC without having to buy a whole new PC. Plugs into the PCIe card and the NVMe SSD.
