I've been using 4.5 inch cutting discs on my 5" grinder for years simply for the fact that is what I had. These discs are quite durable. Although I'm trying to cut gently, the material and sparks are extremely hot - it's sensible to wear welding gloves with these discs.

Have been using these to remove the hardened steel cutting edge from a skid steer bucket. Have gone through a few disks and these last just as long as ones twice the price with ZERO breakage.
