These are flywheel type cars, where pushing the car initially spins up a flywheel which helps keep the car moving based on the flywheel's momentum. In terms of the construction it's average at best; the bottom is plastic and it's a thin aluminum shell that sits on top. Bending the aluminum tabs on the bottom allows you to just slie off the shell and reveals the simple, small drive system which is basically a bunch of plastic gears and what seems (?) like a metal flywheel. Overall the construction is around average, but the functionality is excellent. They go pretty straight and go quite far, my 3 year old has enough strength to easily send these things 40ft+ without much difficulty.Overall, build quality is average at best, but they're very functional and my kid absolutely loves playing with them.

3.5 starsThese are pretty large at about 3" wide by 6" long, a good size for 3 year olds. They look incredible, with full race-style sponsor regalia on all four and details out the tailpipe. And for added fun, they have friction motors (NOT pullback motors like another reviewer claimed). You rev them up and let 'em go.Now for the negative stuff:With the exception of a few small parts such as the axles, these are entirely plastic, and most of that isn't very thick or sturdy. In other words, these are not going to hold up well to being dropped, sat on, or banged into walls or each other. And at $29.99 for the set, that makes it pretty questionable whether or not these are worth getting.

These friction toy cars are very nice cars. They are a very good size, larger than I anticipated, I am quite pleased with them as is my Grandson. They go flying across the room without much effort for a little 2 year old and in turn that makes him go fetch them, developing his little legs and making him a stable toddler. We play with them when he is in to visit or stay for a bit, we have fun. They are pretty and bright with lots of decals and seem to be quite robust in composition being made of plastic with no sharp edges. I'm usingthem to teach him his colors and he is learning as he fetching them. He really likes his cars, so do I.

These cars are the size of your hand. They have rubber tires and are friction powered. Meaning you pull them back a little and let go, they will then go on their own for a short distance. Good quality toys. Much better than the smaller dinky car sized versions. These are light weight and plastic so if they are dropped there will be no damage.
