Should be a 4.5 rating due to a minor problem. I got these to use rather than the stablo all pencil to do preliminary drawing on a stained canvas to paint by. They show up well and keep their point pretty well. The only thing I find wrong is they don't wipe off as well with a wet paper towel like the stable...so just gotta be certain with my drawing. Otherwise they work great for that. I also got the blue ones, so if I don't stain the canvas, (or not as dark) the blue shows up well. Neither affect the (oil) paint.

Purchased for labelling glass bottles but the pencil will not write on glass. Waste of money.

As a 76 year old carpenter, I use these pencils to mark dark colored wood and pressure treated wood where lead pencil lines are hard to see . Works for me.
