Packing plastic came slightly ripped, but no damage to the actual foam.The foam seemed slightly too large to fit, but it was very easy to trim with an utility knife.I like the option to have open cell or closed cells. The open cell is nice if you don't have a specific case dedicated to a specific gun (like me).If it had fit perfectly and/or not been damaged, it would have been 5/5 easily.

This closed cell foam kit is sized to fit the Pelican "Vault" V700 Case with interior dimensions 36.5" x 14.5" x 6" (92.7cm x 36.8cm x 15.2 cm). This foam kit can also be trimmed to fit inside smaller gun cases.The foam kit was shipped in a larger outer box and arrived undamaged.Closed cell foam does not absorb moisture, and is more dense then open cell foam. The original "Vault" case foam is open cell, and can absorb moisture. Over time, open cell foam will also deteriorate and crumble, but closed cell foam will last much longer, if not indefinitely.This kit includes a soft corrugated foam layer for the lid, and three closed cell foam layers, one of which will will be used as the uncut base in the bottom of the case. Plan your form cuts carefully, patiently draw the outline of your rifle onto the foam, and carefully cut the foam along the line. The foam layers are differing thicknesses, to fit different weapons, so ensure you're cutting the correct thickness foam layer.It's also a good idea to purchase some Silica Gel moisture absorbing beads, in packets to keep inside the case, to ensure moisture and rust stay away from your rifles and gear.
