We use these to cover food on the counter to protect from those cats who know not to go up there but who just give you the paw behind your back and do so anyway. No more licking of the cheese plate or butter, if they ever did.

I love this lid. I bought a steaming insert plate. As you can see in the picture, I put it in a stainless steel PAN and and use this lid over it. It is perfect for turkey burger patties. I have to steam my dog's food to get all of the fat out and I came up with this concoction, and it works perfect.

If you looked at this and the covers offered by the manufacturer, it would be hard to tell the difference. I looked at the name brand when buying my griddle and found that these are an exact copy of those costing more. The height of the interior is great for large burgers or chicken breasts. A friend bought pot covers at a re-sale shop and found that while cheap, didn't have the room for larger foods. Very happy with the results when basting or steaming.

They work like a charm, just as I expected. The handles, which have never gotten hot, make the bowls easy to handle. Though listed as intended for “melting,” I use them for cooking stir-fry on my Weber propane griddle… gather up the veggies, squirt them with water, and cover with the dome bowl. I’m pleased with my purchase.
