If you like to play ‘The Distance’ by Cake, then you need a melodica. If you wish you could carry a piano around, you need a melodica. If you want a versatile acoustic wind instrument that you can play harmonies and even full chords on, you need a melodica. This Clifton melodica is only $39 prior to any discounts or coupons. In spite of that, it has 37 keys, an attractive carrying case, good volume, and reasonable sound. Being lightweight is an advantage if you are carrying it quite a bit or if a child is using it. On the other hand, I expect it to be a bit more prone to breakage so don’t go smashing it on the ground. It’s not a guitar. If you don’t know how to play a melodica, there are a lot of tutorials on YouTube. Melodicas do get dirty, but again, there is plenty of advice online. This is a great first instrument because your learning will transfer well to a piano or other keyboard-based instrument. If you find that you really love this Melodica, even $150 - $200 will get you a Suzuki, a Yamaha, or a Hohner, all of which have incredible sound.

My brother adored this gift! It was not too light, and wasn’t too heavy either. It played really well and the case was really classy. I have high hopes that it would last long, otherwise, it is an amazing gift for yourself or for your loved ones!

For the price, a nice sounding instrument. Just blow some isopropyl alcohol thru it to clean it.

This is a melodica, so it’s not going to sound like a piano ! ( this is for those complaining, a piano sounds more like a percussion instrument, a melodica sounds more like a blowing instrument, because it is actually more like a harmonica, it is melodious like a harmonica but you play with keys like on a piano)Ok, rant aside , this is a lovely instrument! I find it very well made and the sound is great, for what it is.You can play it by blowing directly into it using the hard mouth piece (provided) or by blowing through the pipe , with the second mouthpiece, also provided. It is not more unsanitary than a recorder , a flute, a harmonica or anything else that you blow into.My two older kids are both having a blast with this instrument, it’s new to them so they just try to play again the pieces that they know for recorder and piano in melodica version. There are no instructions included, so I will add from my own here, do teach your child to rinse their mouth before playing the melodica just to keep the instrument cleaner. The instrument and the portable case provided are both very nice and this is a great value find.Honestly recommended!Thank you

Got this for my child, and i've noticed it's very unsanitary and doesn't even sound that good. But it keeps them busy i guess.

The melodica is a lovely instrument with a fairly low barrier to entry, but despite the low price point of this product it still emits a fairly good sound. I will mimic what some other reviews have said in that the product, in hand, does feel a bit cheaply made but thankfully the sound quality isn't compromised by this. I think the "cheap feel" mostly comes from the thin lightweight plastic used leading to a somewhat hollow feel in hand. But this is hardly a concern after holding and using the instrument for a little while (and the lightweight factor is a plus in the long run when playing or practicing for awhile.) I was very impressed by how loud the instrument can be for its size, which makes it great for entertaining a classroom.I've never held a high-end melodica before but its hard to be too concerned with the quality of this one by comparison. The instrument functions very well and the carrying case + accessories make for a great starter instrument.

I recently purchased the 37 Keys Keyboard Woodwind Musical Instrument and I am satisfied with its performance. The build quality is decent, although it's not the most rugged instrument available. It's important to handle it with care to ensure its longevity. The professional piano-style keys provide a smooth playing experience, and the portability of the instrument is a great advantage.
