About this item

  • Installs from the OUTSIDE of the wheel!
  • Installs in about 1 minute
  • Fits standard. 453 wheel openings (everything from bicycles to trucks)
  • 20x stronger than standard valves
  • Made in the USA

Colby Valves are the first tire valves made to install from the outside of the wheel, without any tire removal. Want to upgrade or have a broken valve stem? replace it in about 1 minute with our patent pending valves. Our Permanent Valves can be installed at home, from the outside of the wheel, without tire removal, in about 1 minute. You will need to tighten them down with a 1/2" socket or wrench. They are 20x stronger than normal valves and will help you avoid common valve issues up-front. They aren't indestructible, but they will take one heck of a beating. Consider them an amazing rigid valve that can be installed without breaking the bead.

Will the colby valve work with TPMS sensors?
If your tpms sensor is connected to your valve stem, then our permanent valves are compatible. However, the Colby Valve Emergency Valve will be ideal for you. If you break a valve stem, the tpms is probably loose in the tire cavity. In an emergency scenario, just leave it in there and use the Colby Valve Emergency Valve (available separately).

The main advantage of the colby valve is that it can be inserted from the outside of the wheel. TPMS sensors are far too large to fit through the valve hole in the wheel.

These things really work! Our aftermarket TPMS system was causing the rubber valve stems to flex and contact the wheel at highway speeds. These seen pricey, but it was much less expensive than having the tires dismounted to install conventional metal valve stems.Installation was very straight forward, easy and fast.

Good product. However you don't use it until you need them in a emergency.

Used this to replace a split valve stem on my van. The valve was easy to install and seemed to be doing the job, but there turned out to be a leak from the valve core which was not tightened enough inside the valve stem. This was obviously a very easy fix but make sure to order a valve core tool with this kit to check the core is tight before using. Otherwise, this has been on my van for a few months now with no issues, would definitely recommend carrying these as a spare if going on long trips or travelling off road

As the title says, these things work. I had an old, crusty valve stem on a tubeless tired used motorcycle I purchased. After about a year, it suddenly developed a catastrophic leak through the cracks in the valve stem, leaving me stranded temporarily. I didn't feel like paying tons of money for a shop to remove the tire and replace the valve stem, and I didn't have the means to remove a tire at home easily, so I figured I would give these things a try after someone recommended them on stromtrooper.com. What do you know? They work great, and they're dead easy to install, even without removing the tire. I tried to remove the old valve stem as best I could with some needle nose pliers and a flathead screwdriver and managed to get most of it out from the outside of the rim. Some pieces did fall inside the tire, but I haven't noticed any negative effects from there being a few small pieces of rubber in the tire. I put this thing in the rim, tightened it down, and voila, solidly sealed tire. This nicely machined replacement valve should probably be the default valve as it works, is easy to install, and is made of metal, not rubber. I pumped the tire up and it has held the same psi for about a month now. Very satisfied. Also, made in the USA.

Easy to install if you can pull out the broken rubber valve. I have installed two: one is good, the other leaks from the core. Since the "core" cannot be tightened, the leak is temporarily stopped by the rubber on the cap.

I use RimGuard in my tractors. Over time, that product seems to weaken/dissolve the rubber around the metal part of a normal valve stem.Changing a valve stem without unloading the tire and breaking the bead is imperative in this situation! This product saves an inordinate amount of time and hassles.(Put a bit of dielectric grease on the bottom, tapered brass part before installing.)
