Really, in using this, you’d never know it’s compostable. It feels and acts just like plastic wrap. It fit into the box my old plastic wrap was in. I even found tearing this material just as difficult with the serrated metal box edge as I did with the genuine plastic wrap that was in the box before this.Important note of realism: While the roll contained no information regarding composting, the composting certifications from the item listing shows that this wrap is designed to compost in industrial complex facilities. ASTM D6400 uses temperatures above 122 degrees Fahrenheit. Many smaller home compost piles can not maintain this constant temperature and thus would not break down the “plastic.” I know my pile has never been large enough and fed enough to keep a constant 122 degrees. Much larger industrial facilities can keep the required temperature for months on end.Further important note of realism: Compostable plastics such as this do not compost in landfills, so if you get this thinking you can throw the wrap away and they will compost, it very well may not. Landfills are designed to deprive the pile of oxygen, so composting doesn’t occur. In a hundred years, the buried plastic wrap may still be findable in the landfill.

The wrap seems good so far, but what remains to be seen is whether or not it is truly compostable. Another thing is: is it home compostable or is it industrial compostable, because these are entirely different. I have used some of the wrap (important to note, it's a refill roll, you must provide your own container and cutter) and have put it in my compost bin after use. So far, it has not broken down. I'm concerned about this because while it may be biodegradable or compostable, it may not be home compostable, which, to me, defeats the purpose, if the user must throw it out. If the user must throw it out, it ends up in the same place as other wraps: the landfill.I will try to update on if it breaks down. We may just need more heat. Our days have not been warm.

I found that this wrap clings pretty good. We don’t use a lot of plastic wrap, so this roll should last a long time. The ASTM D6400 specification covers plastics and products made from plastics that are designed to be composted in municipal and industrial aerobic composting facilities. These facilities operate between 122°F and 158°F. So, unless your municipality has aerobic composting facilities, this may just be like any other plastic wrap.MY PERSONAL COMMENTS:I am an approved Amazon Vine Member. We are provided the opportunity to order (free of charge) many items that are new to the market, or where a seller just wants some additional exposure for their product. We are NOT required to review every item in exchange for using it. I personally only order products that are important to me (and/or my wife), items I can use or items that I have the ability to properly test (I have lots of test equipment). So, from that use/testing I can provide an honest evaluation & review (and not always a 4 or 5 star) based upon my use and testing of the product. Thanks…and feel comfortable with any information I provide in a review.

This compostable wrap is a sustainable alternative to traditional cling film. It’s impressively durable with its extra thickness, and it fits perfectly in my kitchen roll organizer, which adds to its convenience. It handles food storage beautifully, stretching easily over bowls and plates to keep everything fresh. While it doesn’t cling exactly like traditional plastic wrap, the performance is still excellent—and the eco-friendly benefits more than make up for it. This is definitely a must-have for anyone trying to reduce their kitchen waste!
