I have fished nothing by Cortland 444s for 30 years. It is a more affordable premium line, and it's been a standard for decades. It's a very supple line, which makes line handling easier. It's even supple on colder days, when other lines kink up in the frost. I'm fond of double-taper lines, which many line makers avoid and believe unnecessary. But they make the best presentations for me. As lines become more specialized and more expensive, I stay with the Cortland 444. I am also fond of the peach color.

Cortland 444 Classic DTF is just that.... a classic. The perfect combination of power and presentation. None of the weird fads. I also appreciate they've added a welded loop for connecting leaders. The only thing that could have made it easier would be a smaller welded loop to connect to the backing.
