Not very impressed the top press part bent as soon as I used it without the adapter it did not press out my rusty ball joint I had too stop or I thought I was gonna break the press don’t recommend buying if you are working off the ground rather then a hoist working on trucks as it’s hard too press them back in from underneath the press is so big and doesn’t come with enough cups another concern is why is the press bolt so loose in the actual press? Only thing I can think of is for vibration too help press the ball joint out using an impact gun? Like my press bolt flops around In the press it does catch the threads pretty good but would it not work 100% better if it was tight ? First time using a ball joint press so I’m not sure how they are supposed too work

It works fine but doesn’t come with nearly enough spacers.

Used this to do ball joints in my f150. Tool works as it should. The press is heavy duty piece and if used as prescribed should be serviceable without issues. The receiver cups are a little less so but again for most jobs they will be fine. Maybe not everyday use mechanic grade but for the home mechanic this is a good serviceable tool.

Was able to change out the lower ball joint on my 98 Ford Explorer but had to monkey with it. Kit doesn’t come with the right size adaptor for the bottom so the adaptor was sitting partially on the curved lower edge of the control arm rather than flush against the bottom of the control arm. This meant that the press was somewhat cockeyed when cranking it. Made it work and got it out but wouldn’t recommend for that specific application (95-01 Explorer). Probably wiser to get one of the bigger kits with more adaptors. That being said, it did work to get the job done (with some BFG persuasion) and seems well made for occasional use. Followed other people’s suggestions and sprayed some WD40 on the threads before cranking to prevent stripping out the threads in the aluminum.
