This worked well I broke an aluminum bolt into my engine i used this to bottom out the bolt plus re thread and it did just that no struggle.

Nailed it! This is the quality I expect from DeWalt. I've used these a few times to drill and tap holes. Haven't had any problems attaching to the new holes.

I tried to make another hole just like in the video presentation they made, but I'm honestly very disappointed because is broken. I think it may be good for something else but definitely not for iron

These are only for use on thin metal, but that's fine - I wouldn't be using it anything thicker than an electrical box. Seem well make and drill clean holes. Just be sure not to yank the bit back when you're done or you'll mess op the threads you just made. Carefully reverse out. Better than having to have both drills and taps on hand for small jobs.

These combination drill/taps work well. I've used them on mild steel, aluminum, UHMW plastic and even hard maple. The latter was just to try if it worked on wood - it did but slow down the feed rate and back off frequently. On aluminum it worked great and no lubricant needed. With mild steel use at a slow feed rate with cutting oil, and back out frequently to clear the cuttings. They haven't been used enough to declare them ideal for frequent use; for occasional home shop use they seem good value for the price.

They are a time saver for commercial door hardware install. With a little lubrication they will drill thru heavy steel in seconds.
