My husband works doing granite countertops/showers. Everything tile/granite. He said this work perfectly and the holes come out nicely made.

This review evaluates the “7pc Black Dry Diamond Core Bit Set” made by FOCSTOL.The product was shipped with no excessive or wasteful packaging and is held snugly in a form-fitted hard case. What’s in the box: five (5) dry diamond core drill bits 3/4''(19mm), 1''(25mm), 1-3/8''(35mm), 1-3/4''(45mm), 2''(51mm), one (1) 13/16” (20mm) Finger bit, one (1) slotted SDS mandrel adapter and one (1) padded, hard metal case.First impressions: IT CAME IN A METAL CASE WITH DURABLE LATCHES! I will say that this impressed me right off the jump. My biggest pet peeve is getting a tool kit that has multiple pieces and it is sold with either no case or a flimsy one. I hate trying to adapt some toolbox or Tupperware to suit my needs. I WILL ALWAYS PAY EXTRA FOR SUCH A CASE! It is so nice to pull out a complete kit to “go into battle” and get a breakdown fixed. The overall quality of bits seems good, there is a generous thick coating of diamond abrasive in a heavy-duty steel core bit. ProTip: for small tile work I use a drill press to hold the bit perfectly vertical. For holes into something cylindrical, I use a “Vee” jig in my drill press to hold my round work. Another key element to a clean, easy-to-cut hole as well as ensuring extended drill bit life, ALWAYS use water or oil to cool the bit. Also, it is essential that you don’t “force” the bit into your work – let the bit do its job by providing even positive pressure. Forcing the bit into the work or using the bit dry will excessively overheat the bit and wear off the abrasive coating.Since I am evaluating this product as part of the Amazon Vine program, I am limited to a 30-day window to submit a review. In order to determine drill bit durability and length of life, I intend to monitor this product over the next 12 months. Should anything change over this period, I will update this review accordingly.Cost-effectiveness and value: Overall I am satisfied with the product; it does the job easily and conveniently. Proper care will last quite a few jobs. At a current price of $142.99, I feel that this product is fairly priced for the quality and functionality delivered. In reality, at this price, if you use the kit for one or two jobs it has paid for itself. In summary: the “7pc Black Dry Diamond Core Bit Set” made by FOCSTOL is well made and does the job easily and conveniently at a fair price. I would recommend this product.Pros 👍:✔ Made from good quality materials.✔ Generous amount of abrasive coating.✔ Includes slotted SDS arbor mandrel.✔ Comes in a convenient padded metal case.✔ Fair price point.Cons👎:✘ None.

This is a very nice diamond bit kit with a compact solid metal case. They come well protected in foam. The recommended speed for drilling these bits is 6,000 RPM and maximum 11,000 RPM. The slower you drill in the range, the longer the bits will last. I was hoping to use my cordless Milwaukee drills for these, but they do not even go to 2,000 RPM and my grinder is not variable at only 11,000 RPM, so I know my bits will not last as long as they should. I am now looking for a variable grinder that would work better. The bits are good quality and have a nice deep layer of diamond chips. The SDS adaptor locks in well and the threading is tight. The hardest part is starting the hole without walking the bit and it is better if you can clamp a jig with the hole size over the area to hold it in place before starting. You can make this from a piece of wood and drill a hole the same size. Then you need to rock it to get the core drilled. I have not done any multiple holes the same size yet, so I cannot say how long they will last, but with proper speed and technique this kit should last a long time.

Arrived damaged, there is a crack/chip coming off of the case. Also, 2 of the hole saw bits had extra paint or some kind of thick coating covering a good portion of the diamond abrasive that definitely wasn't supposed to be there. Had higher expectations for this, thought the quality control would be better. Need it for a job coming up so don't think I'll have time for a return and will have to make due. They appear to be good quality other than these issues
