This is the perfect weight and thickness to wear over a drysuit neck and under a helmet for winter whitewater paddling. You can pull it down around your neck to thermoregulate if you get too warm. The use of a hood versus a neoprene beanie really adds some great neck and ear warmth and makes rolling much more comfortable.
