Really poor performance - it managed to convert my base router speed of about 25Mb/S to less than 1Mb/S which is obviously no good. Occasionally it worked, but then in spite of good indications (green light etc) I randomly had no internet access, and had to either recycle the product, or factory reset and start again. Eventually I gave up and sent it back - the OEM support guy tried to help, but we couldn't make it work reliably. Waste of time - don't buy this one.

Prompt delivery. This item arrived and within 7 minutes I set it up as a range extender. My wireless router/modem is a Arris DG3270 situated in an upstairs bedroom on the North side of my home. Once the D-Link DAP 1520 was set up, I moved it down to an A/C wall socket in the dining room on the South side of the house. I now have access to our wireless network from the gazebo which is about 200+ feet south of the house. This range extender was simple to set up and is a good value for the price. I would recommend it to anyone with similar coverage problems.

Do not buy this product. It is extremely buggy, flaky & unreliable.I have spent over 4+ hrs. trying to set it up.Multiple DLINK support folks have tried to help and failed.Sometimes the extender does not connect to the router.If that succeeds, then devices unable to connect to extender.Upon reset, cycle begins all over again.This is an untested, incompatible product.I am going to initiate a return first thing tomorrow morning.Warning for other potential buyers - do not buy this product - you will waste your time & it will not work.Even if you get it to set up once, it will keep failing intermittently.

No problems whatsoever, it took just a few minutes to connect it to my existing network and then set up to extend the wifi in my house. Decent range, and good enough speeds for a very low price.

Works well. Has some quirk - did not want to connect to my DLink-868L router over 5 GHz band even with the latest firmware. Talked to the DLink support, they suggested router firmware upgrade, which did not change anything. Connected to the router over 2.4 GHz and seems speedy enough to support several wireless devices connecting through it. Configuration is straight forward. 5GHz band works as well.

Exceeded expectations. I now get signal in my garage which is 100 ft from the house. Great bang for the buck. Setup is relatively easy. Had to run the setup twice but operating with no problems at all.

This product works, but with two major annoyances:- The device can't connect to a hidden network. I had assumed this was just a problem with initial setup and I could re-hide the network again once the device was configured. No such luck. So if you want to keep your wireless network hidden, don't bother with this device.- This is advertized as a dual-band network extender, but it won't extend both your wireless networks. While it accepts connections over both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, it only connects to your router over ONE frequency. This can be the 2.4 GHz band, or the 5 GHz band, but not both. So, if you're trying to, for example reserve your 5 GHz band for media streaming and leave the 2.4 GHz band for other devices, you're snookered. Traffic from both 2.4 and 5 GHZ connections to the extender all gets funneled onto one or the other wireless network to your router, whichever one you configured.

I replaced my D-Link DAP-1320 with this extender and I'm very glad I did! The signal is far more robust and at times exceeds 400 MBs/sec, great for watching HD videos. The connection is much better and far less prone to drop-outs like the other D-Link range extender. It also improved my overall signal from my router without the extender involved. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and highly recommend this range extender.
