Dog Grass (Cynodon dactylon), commonly known as Bermuda Grass, is a type of grass that is safe and beneficial for dogs to chew on. While not as commonly marketed as "Cat Grass," some dog owners grow grass specifically for their pets to consume, which can help with digestion and general health. Dog Grass is also used in outdoor settings as a turf grass for lawns, playgrounds, or pet-friendly areas because of its durability and ability to tolerate high traffic. Dog Grass (like Bermuda Grass) has fine-textured blades that are typically green, although some varieties can have a more blue-green hue. The grass grows in dense patches or turf, making it a popular choice for lawns and pet areas. The grass has short, narrow, and flat blades that grow in clusters or patches. When kept well-watered and maintained, it forms a thick, lush carpet, perfect for pets to walk and play on. Bermuda Grass spreads by both seeds and stolons (runners), making it ideal for ground cover and lawn maintenance. It can grow to about 4 to 6 inches (10–15 cm) tall, although it may spread outward to cover large areas.
