I submitted a picture of the old part that was locked up. This kit replaced all those components to brand new and fixed my issue!

Great cheap way to rebuilt your rusted e-brakes. First generation tacoma e-brakes are generally fubar after 10-20 years in rusty environments. This kit is great. The only problem I had was the little c-clips for the bell crank pins half-failed on install, but the pins are holding in there so far.

This is definitely a decent kit for the price point. The fact that it works is terrific, as apposed to the rusted and bound original. You will want a smaller flat file to "machine" the point where the hinge is so you can get the plastic washers in. You would think Dorman would get with the picture and change this fact after probably thousands of people complaining, but oh well.Make sure to use good quality grease in copious amounts inside the boot to prolong functionality.Good luck with your repairs!

Not a review of the product itself by I am in Canada and am a journeyman mechanic. If you plan on doing this in the rust belt you better be prepared with a new kit. I took my old ones apart and anti seized everything but had to weld out one bolt that snapped and had to heat and pound the pivot pins quite a bit too get them out. I wanted to fix my old ones due to them being better quality thes. But if you aren't willing to fight with rust. Just buy the kit.

Easy and a fun project to install with my 13 year old son. Quality is about the same.

Got the job done on my 2006 tundra but the parts were 3/5 quality - had to file down the housing so the crank and plastic washers would fit, and one of the pins that secures the crank to the brake cable didn't have a hole drilled in it for the cotter pin. If I had found any other faults I probably would have returned it, but at the point I was at I just fixed it and installed it. Shipping and service was good.

Everything included as advertised. The bell crank itself is stamped which causes a slight deformation at the edges of the steel, which I had to file a bit to get the arms moving freely in the cast pivots, but they probably would have worn in on their own. The nylon washers (which are a great improvement to keep the arms and castings from direct contact, which is where my old ones seized up in the first place) are incredibly difficult to assemble and I had to file the casting a bit to make sufficient room for them. Everything else was perfect and good value. However, I bought this kit because one of my bell crank boots was ripped, and the stealership wanted CDN$40 for a single boot. So I spent a bit more to get this whole kit, even though the rest of it wasn't really necessary. Realities of parts distribution these days I guess.

This product fit a 2004 Tundra SR5 (5.7L V8 4WD) perfectly. Also, this set was a fraction of the cost of what a Toyota dealer wanted for oem parts. The nylon bushings are a better design than the oem parts (should prevent seizing common in oem parts).Only downside is the parts do not come pre-assembled into the final condition for installation. However, it gives the installer an opportunity to ensure they're properly greased prior to installation.
