My kids are adults now but I have plenty of great nieces and nephews to entertain, educate, and spoil. I got these Educational Insights Sight Word Bean Bags for my great nephew who is progressing remarkably well at learning colors, shapes, and letters. He's not ready for recognizing words just yet but these bean bags will be ready for him when he is.Out of the box, the first thing I appreciated was the drawstring bag which will be handy for storing the bean bags and the graphics on the outside make it easy to identify the contents. The bags themselves are soft and seem well stitched. They feature five different colors and graphic designs that I'm sure will please my nephew. The internal contents of the bags were lumpy on arrival but with some kneading I was able to loosen them up a bit. It feels like there's a plastic bag inside the cloth bag holding the "beans" which is a good thing if a seam eventually gives way. Also, they feel less likely to cause injury if kids are being kids and start throwing them at each other. The size of the bags is good for little hands.The instructions included in the box have suggestions for games and with some creativity it shouldn't be difficult to come up with some of our own. A QR code linking to a site containing more learning activities is included as well.When my wife, a teacher, saw them, she immediately gave her endorsement. So far I've done well selecting good educational toys for our nephew and I'm sure he will enjoy these too. I think these are an excellent learning toy, creating opportunities to teach kids how to read while having fun in the process.

I'm a teacher, and I use these with my younger students. My students love them. It's a great way to practice reading, whilst making it fun and engaging. There are lots beanbags and plenty of ways to incorporate these into games for little ones learning to read.

My child doesn’t like to use flash cards for sight words or practicing sight words in general so I have been looking for a fun way for her to practice sight words and these bean bags make learning sight words fun! She even started to make sentences with them. The activity guide includes some other ways to use them and the bag makes clean up so easy!

The sight word bean bags have turned learning into a fun game. My kids love tossing and catching them while practicing their sight words. The tactile experience helps with their phonics and spelling, and the included activity guide has been useful for creating engaging games.
