I use them for lots of things. I used 550 cord and these to secure my pool floats from blowing away. I have one on each key ring as a backup to my full size carabiner. Easy to use with cord to make quick slip knots.

Bought these for my travel backpack, to clip on to the zipper heads to keep them locked. Wanted a bit of security to prevent easy access while walking with it on your back with crowds. Yes, they can be removed, but you should feel it, and will take even a pro a bit to get them off quickly. Colour blends in nicely with the backpack, so not noticeable either.
